enforcing our immigration laws and building tighter security along ALL of our borders and ports?

How can our government tell us that we are safer when there are over 12 million people in our country illegally and they don't even know who they are?

Well, we know who many of them are. After all, when you catch and release people, they at least ask their name.

And many of those that they did actually send back to Mexico, Honduras, etc. are back in this country.

Maybe we could have not spent that money at all, maybe we could have all gotten a giant income tax instead. Iraq was a mistake from the moment they said "on your mark."

The amount of money that has gone into it and will go into it will never be recovered by the loaners of the bill (the American people.) We have allowed, and i mean ALLOWED, this administration to use its knee jerk reaction to start a war that we will never get out of. Even if it were to end tomorrow its still going to be another Germany, Japan, Korea, etc, etc. Millions of dollars to expand our "empire."

This is precisely what happened to Rome at its peak.

Money could have been better spent on positive things, rather then war or enforcing immigration laws.

Money spent killing islamofascists is money well spent. We would be better off if we took all the money spent on health and education for illegal aliens and spent that on shipping them back and locking them out. That's more than the amount spent on Iraq anyway.

that money should be spent on programs that help americans, not on war and immigration, none of the 9/11 terrorists came from mexico.

Just like the money used on all the other wars this country has been in could have been used on other things here at home, but it wasn't. So what's your point?

I think our border situation is a joke and inexcusable. Why even bother having immigration laws when it's just a free-for-all?

good point. however, i tend to believe that congress would have spent the money on other things like taxpayer funded freebies for the "poor".

No, it's spent just fine other than paying our troops a decent wage!
