I see it as this, the Grammy nominations are from the record industry insiders. Then the people that benefit from it. I've seen on network TV digs at the Conservatives. I haven't heard grammy winning song on local radio. My problem is with all this. We the "little people" are suppose to downsize our lifestyle. To support the global warming cause. That I keep on hearing about. When the elite give up the private jets and huge mansions. Live in a normal size home. Then I will entertain the petty complaints Hollywood and the left has

So don't listen to them. And don't respect the grammys. Whatever. It's your choice to be as narrow or open minded as you want.
"The Dixie Chicks opened their mouths on foreign soil and bad mouthed a sitting President during a time of war." So what? It's their right and their duty to speak out about what they feel is oppressive and wrong. Should everyone sit back and pat the president on the head? Whether or not you agree, as an American, you should respect their right to say what they want - you know, all that bill of rights stuff.
If it was a blow against Clinton (either one), would we even be having this discussion?

Most of the music industry is liberal, but there are exceptions. Actually, country music listeners mainly lean to the right, even if their favorite artists tend not to.

They can't. But that's just one of the reasons why people don't pay attention to awards shows like the Grammys or the Oscars nor do they respect their picks. They just give out awards to whatever makes some outlandish political statement rather then on artistic accomplishments.

I don't know how any sane person can say that the music industry is not mostly liberal. But it makes sense; the writer, the musician and the artist are almost always liberal.
This is why I listen to non-political music: Classical, opera, and gothic metal mostly.

I've been waiting all day for this one. In fact, when they swept ALL the categories in which they were nominated...I laughed, thinking about the uprising on YA today.
The Dixie Chicks were NOT kicked out of country music. There were some radio stations who chose not to respect their right to free speech, and stopped playing their music...big difference.
As for their song being anti-Bush...well...it isn't. It has nothing to do with him. It has everything to do with the fact that they were issued death threats for saying they were ashamed that Bush came from Texas. Is that something to kill someone over? Really? Is that your America? A country that denies freedom of speech and issues death threats to mothers?
I guess that the music won this one, pal. Now go away and lick your wounds in private...cause its kinda sickening, having to listen to your whining.
