Considering Israel receives $3 billion in aid from the United States, which constitutes one fifth of the total US aid budget, and that Israel is a wealthy state with a per capita income comparable to Spain, how does one justify the huge amount of US aid sent to Israel each year? Is such a close relationship between the US and Israel a result of the Israel Lobby influencing US foreign and security policy or is another factor responsible?
