The role of the Israel Lobby in US foreign policy?

Walt and Mearsheimer in their paper titled "The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy", examined the role of the Israel lobby in determining US foreign policy. Considering Israel receives $3 billion in aid from the United States, which constitutes one fifth of the total US aid budget, and that Israel is a wealthy state with a per capita income comparable to Spain, how does one justify the huge amount of US aid sent to Israel each year? Is such a close relationship between the US and Israel a result of the Israel Lobby influencing US foreign and security policy or is another factor responsible?

It is well advertised , in a very indirect way by the media.
I am thinking that since most of the media is owned or controlled by Jewish people that they simply wanting to get the word out that they are "special" and are "secretly controlling the world". Which is just an advertisement really.
Why would they be doing this? Well, like I said it has something to do with their wanting to be looked upon in awe and as something special. Probably do to the fact that they are a very arrogant , deceitful and ugly race of people and cannot help it, thus they try to make up for it by promoting how "clever" and "special" they are.

The Walt and Mear report has been pulled to shreds and dis-owned by their own universities:
Harvard and the University of Chicago have distanced themselves from Professors Walt and Mearsheimer. The report no longer includes the pro-forma disclaimer used for all other research reports on that Harvard website. In its place is a far stronger disclaimer, in much larger type. The original disclaimer read:
The views expressed in the KSG Faculty Research Working Paper Series are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect those of the John F. Kennedy School of Government or Harvard University. Copyright belongs to the author(s). Papers may be downloaded for personal use only.
The new, much more prominent disclaimer reads:
The two authors of this Working Paper are solely responsible for the views expressed in it. As academic institutions, Harvard University and the University of Chicago do not take positions on the scholarship of individual faculty, and this article should not be interpreted or portrayed as reflecting the official position of either institution.
It is especially notable that while the original disclaimer merely stated that Harvard did not necessarily share the views expressed in the article, the revised disclaimer goes much further, stating that:
1. The two authors are “solely responsible” for the content.
2. Both Harvard and the University of Chicago “do not take positions on the scholarship of individual faculty.”

Eygpt receives nearly the same amount of aid as Israel. No-one mentions an 'Eygpt lobby'. Ever wonder why?

The aid given must be spent on American goods so the US economy benefits.

Israel is not a wealthy state - 20% of its population live in poverty.

The close relationship is more easily explained by the fact that Israel is the only true democracy in the region and shares many values and morals with the USA.

America feels that it must protect israel, because 1) it is the only true democracy and US ally in the region and 2) it is a key election issue with key swing voters in key swing states : no US president has had he balls to stand up the israel lobby, for fear of retribution at the next elections.

You forgot to mention the military aid, that being said......Of course it has to do with the Israel lobby in the U.S. media and government. The U.S. should break all economic ties with Israel, we don't owe them **** and I personally hate to see my tax dollars go to their terrorist "state". Sending billions of dollars to Israel is not in the U.S's best interest. Ever wonder why the Arabs hate the U.S. so much? It's not hard to figure out. Israel should be forced to get by on it's own.

they don't try to justify it, Henry Kissinger made the middle eastern foreign policy when he was Secretary of the State Department, and has advised every president on it since Ford. have you bothered to check and see where he immigrated from?

It would seem that with all the money they extort from Europe for the 'Holocaust' and the money they make selling US secrets to China, they wouldn't need further hand-outs.
