So many liberals blame Bush for withdrawing from the accords, but US was never a signatory?

How is that for making sense?

I think that partisanship is one of America's biggest threats. A divided house cannot stand. I know I personally have been guilty of taking the wrong course of action in improving this situation. I'd like to improve my own actions and I believe others do too.

I'm really interested in a solution that can smash harmful negative labeling and intellectual diminishment in discussion of important issues. I'd love to see the bar of civility being raised, not dropped.

Here's my ideas:

1. You can't always control the actions of others, but you can always control yourself. Change your mindset. Try to eliminate labels from your brain. Forget party affiliation and just look at raw ideas.

2. Look at the intent. Most people are just doing what they believe is right. When we cast negative labels on a group, we tend to forget that.

3. End ad hominem and unproductive generalisations. They accomplish nothing. Discourage them gently in others.

Thoughts? Answers? Ideas?

I read that labour have given the Local councils the go-ahead to interview around 10000 people/ homes, and interview them on subjects ranging from how much money they earn to what is the
sexuality ,to how big thier garden is,to what do they spend thier money on etc
They say the first interviews will be voluntary (rewarded with a book of first class stamps for people who volunteer ) .
They say they need this information to update thier records for local councils etc.

The policies of the Bush Administration has been to reduce (eventually eliminate) the tax burden on UNEARNED Income (dividends, capital gains, inheritances). This transfers the tax burden to those who work for a living.

Is this fair? If anything should be tax-exempt, shouldn't it be what people WORK for?

I live off an Investment Portfolio. Bush has reduced my taxes, but I think it isn't fair. And when my parents die, I will become a millionaire. The GOP would let me get it all tax free. But it's the working stiffs who would be stuck with paying to keep America going.

This is an elitist tax policy. Why do Rightists support it, and talk a lot of pseudo-populist nonsense?

I asked yesterday, if anyone else felt that our government is betraying us, and got 18 responses. Everyone agreed that this government is selling us out. We can't continue this idea that freedom means not having the government tell us what to do. We have to regain the understanding that freedom is when WE TELL THE GOVERNMENT WHAT TO DO! I propose that everyone forget this lib/con garbage and vote for the challenger, in the next elections, NO MATTER WHAT. If we do this, for the next few election cycles, we might be able to throw the entrenched powers out and retake our government. THEY WORK FOR US! WE ARE NOT THEIR SUBJECTS! THEY ARE OUR CIVIL SERVANTS!
