If the government managed healthcare, it would need roughly $10,000 per year per person (not counting the illegal aliens) in escrow, and if all were insured, isn't that $3,000,000,000,000? When has the government had $3,000,000,000,000 laying around--per year?

That's outrageous you say? Cut it in half then. It is still $1,500,000,000,000.

And this is only one program out of thousands. I don't see how we're going to be able to continue to pay for all these programs as they all grow out of control, unless we bring rugged individualism back in fashion.

3 trillion is 3,000 separate stacks of one-dollar bills from the earth to the moon.

This government goes on about the protecting enviroment ,then some bright spark comes up with building houses on green belt in the UK.
apparently we have a housing shortage.
I know we need more houses but we still need to protect the enviroment and i don't know if this is the right way to go!
what do others think on this idea?

It's clearly the result of brain washing by the public school system and the media.

I know that sounds weird. But my mom in law sends stuff like: "things every American should know!" And then it will go on to say something wonderful about the soldiers in Iraq and their loving families or it will spin some aspect of the democratic party. Its complete brainwashing material. As if the fact that a soldier has a loving story that makes the war in Iraq justified! Anyway I'm not looking for the equivalent in ill conceived democratic propaganda, just something to send back as a rebuttal. Where can I get some of that or get on a list? Moveon.org?

I see cars around still with MoveOn.org bumper stickers and John Kerry for President. Why cannot those people take their own advise and move on. It has been 2 years.

The new general in Iraq, Gen Petraeus, has stated that we will not know until May how successful the surge will be. Our Commander in Chief has stated that he needs this surge to win. Why then are the Democrats proposing to leave Iraq before then?

The 2 people most involved in this war are General Petraeus and President Bush. They are in charge and are responsible to know what is going on.

The only thing I can conclude is the Democrats and spineless Republicans who are against the surge are doing it for political reasons or really want us to lose.

Did you guys catch the deomcrats rebuttal? If so, do you think that the congress and house are going to take "W" acting like a dictator? Also, what do you think they will do to inforce the majorities opinion>? I just loved at the end of the speech how he just stuck right to "W" that if you are willing to work with us, we will support you. If not, we will show you the way. "W" must really think he is going to get away with his defiance. What do you think?

Some frens and I went to a hotel for high tea, and 5 of us who ate oysters got food poisoning! I complained to the hotel who said that they would look out for other such cases, but they reported that there were none. I don't think that the hotel would voluntarily tell me that other guests got food poisoning because it would be bad for their business. Now they are offering me complimentary high tea for 2 out of goodwill. I want to know which government body in Singapore I can write to to notify them of this case. This is a reputable hotel and I expect them to purchase their food from reputable sources. 5 out of 5 persons got food poisoning, what other evidence do they need? (We have medical certificates).
