Nothing should pass without the majority of legal citizens up or down vote!

Before new legislation is passed it should be spelled out to the public via all forms of communication except direct mailing. Direct mailing would be too costly.
It should also be worded in the simplest language so that we would know exactly what they are trying to do.
But really, what good would any of that do? We would still have no recourse except to accept what they have decided to do. Of course it might make them think before they passed certain bills if they knew that we were aware of what they were trying to do to us. (generally not for us).

Do you realize how much that would cost in postage alone? Forget about envelope stuffing and paper!! You would double the national debt with every enacted law!!

As a responsible citizen you should pay enough attention to your own government to know whats going on otherwise how could you make an informed decision when voting, etc. (I don't mean this in a condescending fashion and I apologize if it comes off that way)

No, most people wouldn't read it. It would be over their heads, you would confuse them. Plus, they don't always want you to see the legislation they pass. All of this information IS available on the internet for the curious, however.
