Whenever Cheney is confronted with the idea that the public is aganst his and Bush's policies, he always says the same thing "Polls are fickle, they go up and down."

So, Cheney equates the opinions of the public with the capriciousness of polls. No matter the issue, the public is apparently not informed enough to have a meaningful say in the dialogue.

Do you believe Cheney is correct? If not, what should be done about it?

I've noticed quite a few "Danger - Deer Crossing" signs posted on my travels and I don't understand how the Department of Transportation knows when they will cross. I'm yet to see one cross, so obviously DOT can't guarantee you will see a deer.

Furthermore, I think our tax dollars would be better spent on improving the roads themselves. Not wasted on paying for the cost of a deer, feeding it, caring for it during illness just so people have a chance to see a deer. Trust me - if people want to see them that bad, they will go to a zoo.

Is it fair? I crossed the ground border with some friends, they made everyone go to the office because of me( i was born in one of the countries that US dislikes/WV). They told me whatever i say will be taken against me if the info was wrong after their investigation! I was kindda embarrassed although they were my good friends but still isnt a bit bigoted? the dispute is between two governments not the people second of all im a Canadian( doesnt that count?)

Why do they always miss the bad guys and catch the good guys by mistake?

Hitler didn't believe in religion and only wanted a state run religion as a propaganda tool for the government. He was an socialist. He was a vegetarian. He didn't like Jews.

He sure sounds like he is an American liberal.

I went out and bought me a big tub of Elmer's glue to celebrate. I don't know about you, but as long as we have one soldier in harm's way in Iraq and elsewhere, I don't want to be hearing about an ailing HORSE!!

Background:

There's an overcrowing crisis in the UK's prison system. The Home Secretary wrote to all judges telling them to only send VIOLENT PERSISTENT criminals to jail. Since then, 2 convicted paedophiles have been released on bail because there's not enough room in prison.

Lindis Percy is a 64-year-old Quaker, grandmother and retired midwife. She has been sent to jail for refusing to pay a £50 fine for peacefully protesting outside a US Spy Base at Menwith Hill nr Harrogate in North Yorkshire, UK. The spy base listens in on millions of people's phone calls. Despite the fact that it's on UK soil, the British Government has no control or oversight over it + is not allowed access to any intelligence it might produce. Lindis Percy has been campaigning for the base to be accountable to Parliament so that innocent people aren't spied on.

Is she really SO dangerous that she should be sent to jail when paedophiles aren't?

Al Frankin filed for bankruptsy - Why because not a single company would advertise on that Radio Show for 1.5 years. Now the Fairness Doctrine Surfaces. Seems he wants a share of time for balance on Conservative talk radio or he is going to file a lawsuit. So here you go he flops on all left radio so he wants to stop right radio.

Although the details were uninformed, this question did promt me to think about definations used for "liberals".

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aq_2KHYSmIMlWMBLHUEgv63Z7BR.?qid=20070129082610AA3crEA

The question is if you identify yourself as "liberal", what type of liberal are you?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_liberalism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_liberalism

If the former, then you are in favor of smaller government, free enterprise, property rights, state rights, etc. Just like the founding fathers.

If the latter, then you are in favor a bit of socialism, bigger government, group rights, government influence over business.

So what defination of liberal do people mean, when they say liberal?
