This country was founded by a group of men willing to question its governors.

Is questioning the judgment of our elected officials patriotic? Seems there are a lot of posters on here that equate disagreeing with Bush with lack of patriotism.

Which is more patriotic -- blindly following a leader who is prone to error, or questioning the judgment and seeking to limit the power of a reckless public official?

No one wants the country to be at war. Neither Democrat nor Republican, not Conservatives nor Liberals want war. So it begs the question: what can the average person do to facilitate a faster end to U.S. involvement in the Iraq war?

That is the perhaps one of the best political ideas I have ever heard. Canadians have more in common with Americans than any other people in the world. The benefits with Mexico joining though are less appealing without some kind of immigration controls. It would benefit us more to help Mexico develop their economy more along North American line in services instead of being heavily dependent on energy and manufaturing. I would favor letting no more than Mexicans in than 1% fo the US population/year and encourage them to move more to places other than Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

Perhaps a new flag would be completely blue with 3 white stars ( example: http://tinyurl.com/yukz47
Or a standard USA flag with a maple leaf inside the blue box instead of those stars.

Most popular candidates:
British Columbia
Puerto Rico
Alberta
Cuba
Israel and Palestine (two stars for peace movement)
UK
Guyana
Colombia
Ireland
Parts of Mexico (baja california)
chile

What do you believe will be the 51st state?

i believe Washington DC will rejoin Maryland instead of becoming a state. And Alberta will eventaully leave Canada (since Ottawa has bullied it for so long) and perhaps form its own nation or join USA as a commonwealth or state.

a. Alternative energy

b. Recycling

c. Population control

d. Global warming is pile s*** created by the leftist media that supports global socialism, and is it to try to restrain the economic power and influence of the United States. No solution needed except the education of brain washed liberals who don' realize they are being used by socialist elites to further their agenda.

Especially in regards to national crime. There needs to be implementation of more restorative justice measures to off set the explosion of incarceration we see. Our prisons are overcrowded which leads to more prisons being built, which leads to more tax dollars and more overcrowding. Can't politicians and the general public see that this solution is a never ending circle that will never be resolved. What do you think?

it certainly isn't education. americans ***** about immigrants and having to press 1 for english, when in most other industrialized nations english isn't they're native tongue, and they learn it as a second language starting in kindergarten.
it isn't they're products. nothing is made by americans except cigarettes, alchohol, weapons, and a flag. no one else can even buy american cars because of its retarded environmental standards...not even china! so...
it isn't its environmental standards
it isn't health care. most americans don't have it
it isn't its currency. the dollar is dropping while the euro and yen are rising. not to mention america dropped its gold standard in the 70's. everyone knows it lives on a credit card where other countries are left with the bill
it isn't democracy. most other nations are democracies also. not to mention america's judicial coup in the 2000 presidential election. then there is america's policy to torture its prisoners
so what makes it great?

The US has no 'national language' per se but English is the lingua franca in the States, and in most of the world. But, there are more hispanic immigrants coming to This Great Nation. Is it time the US starts teaching English and Spanish as well as having English and Spanish on all traffic signs and store labels, etc?
