Especially in regards to national crime. There needs to be implementation of more restorative justice measures to off set the explosion of incarceration we see. Our prisons are overcrowded which leads to more prisons being built, which leads to more tax dollars and more overcrowding. Can't politicians and the general public see that this solution is a never ending circle that will never be resolved. What do you think?

Perhaps you have the solution everyone is obviously missing. Write to your legislators and tell them your idea. Heck, they may even name the bill after you. It won't be the first time something like that has happened.

They are too soft already. Here is what I think and it is just my .02. Over 30% of our prison population is made of illegal immigrants so step 1 is to deport them. Of the people in prison the last I heard (this was a few years ago but it most likely still fits) some where around 95% were in either from alcohol or drug problems or from trying to get the money to support their habit so instead of just locking them in a cage make them go through a rehab program (it may save a few from repeating and break a chain). Repeat violent offenders should not be allowed to get out at all and in most cases should be put to death. Drug dealing should be considered attempted murder as their products cause more deaths and inprisonments than just about any other product. Without drugs gangs would be a thing of the past.

How about corporal punishment? People will be less inclined to break the law if they know it will result in physical stress.

Not saying I advocate it, but it is an idea. I do, however believe that waiting ten years to execute a death row inmate is too much of a burden on the tax payer. If one is sentenced to die, then they need to be dealt with in a timely fashion.

Deportation of illeals as opposed to incarcerating them for extended periods is a pretty good idea. Crime, however, is a societal problem that society, not government, needs to fix. all the government can do is make/enforce the law. Society needs to teach respect for the law.

Liberals already tried exactly what you are preaching. the 60's & 70's saw the worst violent crime in US history. There is not such thing as rehab for murder, rape, pedophilia....Get the illegals out of the country and there will be plenty of prison space available

get rid of illegals,, that reduces the prisons by 25%...then have harsher laws and conditions inside prisons...make people not want to go back once they get out...and make laws that are life sentences for the first offense besides murder...like child molesting, rape, ripping off millions from pension plans...etc...
