We have the term "infidel" used by Jihadists. But, they say they are quoting from the Qur'an. Is that true?

If that is true, what have you been taught about "infidels" ?

What does the term "infidel" mean to you?

Have you been taught to believe that "infidels" are inferior to you and are deserving of less rights than those who subscribe to Islam?

I am curious on what Muslims think of "infidels", thank you.

In a great episode of 'The West Wing' a group of kids have a discussion with White House Communications Director regarding lowering the voting age. The teleplay raises some valid points:

1. They point out that the age 18 is arbitrary.

2. They note that if they get jobs at 16 years old, they have to pay income taxes -- but have no direct voice in how much they are taxed or how the money is used.

3. They note that kids breathe the same air and drink the same water that adults do -- but they have no direct voice in determing how these elements are protected and regulated.

4. The pre-empt any argument that they are not smart enough to make informed choices by noting that same argument was made by those who didn't want women or African-Americans to vote.

So what do you think? Should the voting age be lowered to 16?

The constitution establishes all kinds of limits on who Americans can elect. There are age requirements associated with federal elected positions. A president can only serve two terms. A president also must be born in America.

So why not entertain the notion of establishing term limits on Congress?

Especially if there is a Democratic controlled congress. Would that keep the balance of powers between the two branches? Or is that only when it is controlled by the Republicans?

With the majority of Americans pressing Congress to move forward with bringing an end to the war ...is Pres.Bush hesitant to pull out of Iraq because of the impending fall of the already unstable Iraq "government" or is it purely because he is putting off the obvious failure of his blundering mistakes ?
Is he "stalling" for time to find "someone" ( possibly the Democrats ) to blame his failure on?

in the wrong one. But I've always wondered what started the great depression. I know the stock market fell. That means prices went down, right? (I wish gas prices would go down) but at any rate, does anyone know what caused the market to fall? Was it a rumor about bad bananas (LO!!)? I mean, what was it that caused the market to fall in the first place?

Scattered reports re: Jimmy Carter and his dementia have surfaced but have been carefully downplayed by the Far Left Wing Liberal controlled Elitest mainstream media.

I was painfully reminded how the Liberal Left sniped at President Reagan when his memory on some small issue might slip BUT here we have a man with dementia whose presidency was an utter and shamefull disaster wanting now to talk on his own to that madmen the, Pres. of Iran!

Yes, the same Iran that humiliated him and the USA for 444 days . . . 444 days of horror for the US Embassy hostages while Jimmy prayed, dirthered, hemmed and hawed!

Talk about failure!

"Now" he has dementia to boot!!! And he's not being stopped from making policy!!

He's unbalanced, a Liberal and now demented, naturally?

His public stayements have been borderline
proposterous and totally far Hyper Left Liberal
and now reportedly issued from an aged, "mentally.
unsound" individual.

What say you?

Wasn't the main goal of going to Iraq to help win the war on terror? So how is the US military going to win the war on terror in Iraq if the troops are spending all of their time trying to keep a major civil war from breaking out between Iraqi Shiites & Iraqi Sunnis?
