I hope so. We could have used a REAL National Security Advisor or Secretary of State. Miss Rice is an attractive and intelligent woman, but was utterly unqualified for these positions. Along with the other incompetents and corrupt officials associated with the highest levels of the American State, she allowed, or even encouraged, great harm to be perpetuated!
Protecting or representing the United States requires more than just another pretty face.
Of course, President Bush hasn't exactly done right by this country even with his male appointees--Just look at John Ashcroft, Alberto Gonzales, Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld---for starters!!
Regarding Miss Rice's exit, I hope so, but don't hold your breath. It is also possible that she will be replaced with someone just as bad.
Oh well. Your tax dollars at work...

Bolton would have stayed, Democrats wanted no part of him. And because it was an unconfirmed appointment he was working for nothing. Besides anyone who stands up and says the UN needs major reform I'm all for.
Before you go badmouthing him too much, ask yourself how many Senators or Representatives would work as long as he did for nothing?
And just what has Ms. Rice done or not done that you are so disguated about?

NEVER HAPPEN !!
THAT WOULD BE EVERY FAR LEFT WING ACLU ADORING HYER LIBERAL DEMOCRATS DREAM COME TRUE though!
Bush has given more high Cabinet and Federal posts to more minorities than ANY Liberal Democrat ever did, including their iconic paragon of virtue Slick Willy Clinton!
And yet the Dems attack and reject them i,e, Ms. Rice and
Sen Lieberman (eating their own).
The Dems, Hillary, Kerry, Pelosi and the crew, hypocrites all.
