Well my point basically is i think the loans given to us Africans should not be given to our various governments, instead the donors should ask us what we need most and provide them to us and then our people will manage them. What i see from where i come from is the money given to our government is normally used in building roads which doesn't benifit the poor in soceity.I think what we need as Africans in Africa are hospitals, schools and good drinking water. And also if pregnant women can have free health care and children vaccinations can be free.

... in free markets when we're talking about the minimum wage, environmental regulations, labelling and packaging, are also the same people who tend to favor strict immigration laws, farm subsidies, trade barriers and union regulations? I thought they believed the free market was always right.

So yeah, If Congress passed a bill requiring the use of all fluorescents, wouldn't we cut down greatly on energy costs? Not to mention the ramifications to the environment. Though I do wonder if there's a way to recycle that many light bulbs that would get tossed? If Congress can pass laws REQUIRING us to wear safety belts for our protection, couldn't they pass a law saving the Earth from us?

EU foreign ministers are considering what sanctions to impose on Turkey over its failure to open its ports to trade with the Greek Cypriot government of Cyprus.

Turkey wants an embargo lifted on the breakaway Turkish Cypriot state but the European Commission has proposed freezing elements of Turkey's membership talks.

The 25 EU member states are deeply divided over Turkish membership. Supporters say it's strategically important to welcome this moderate Muslim nation. Opponents fear Turkey's size, relative poverty, historical and cultural differences.

Would you like to see Turkey join the EU?

Was the freedom imagined by our forefathers, with liberty and justice for all, as wounded back then as it is today? That is to ask, has America ever experienced an era when a true, functional democratic sense of balanced freedom existed in the country? Has our freedom always been this faceless and disconnected?
