-1859 Independence war II. The future Kingdom of Italy (Kingdom of Sardinia) conquered Lombardy (an Austrian dependency in Northern Italy). It was heavily supported by France. (Prime Minister, Carlo Benso count of Cavour made successful diplomatic efforts to persuade France). So Italy conquered most northern Italy.

Afterward Many other States and dominions in Northern and Central Italy choice to join.

-1860 Garibaldi and his volunteers (secretly supported by some factions inside Italian government) conquered Sicily and most Southern Italy.
1861 Kingdom of Sardinia takes the name of Kingdom of Italy
