If Thatcher supported a Fashist like Pinochet, would she have supported Hitler in the 1930's They were both mass murderers of their own countrymen and she had a ruthless streak in her nature particularly against the unions just as they did.

Why did many many Chileans support Pinotchet?
He cleaned up an aggresively corrupt country, he improved the lot of the middle classes (the goal of the Tory party??) he reduced expenditure and inflation. He was anti-corruption (other than his own?) and he saved the guvernment money (which, it appears, he squirreled away offshore).
Thatcher, and the west, liked him as a stabilising influence in the area. The UK were able to use his facilities for Humint and Elint for the Falklands' War and the Americans could have used him as a base for aircraft in the Central American dispute in Panama.

She probably would have supported Hitler, as many of the upper classes did in the 1930s & 40s.
Pinochet stood up against Communism, which both Thtcher and Reagan oposed, and therefore its boils down to the old addage, 'my enemy's enemy is my friend.' Pinochet also helped us in the Falklands conflict.

She's part of the world order clique...better support people being horribly tortured than to have Chile controlled by a socialist government. I know the problem of communism and domino theory is real, but it's time the horrors of US sponsorship of evil regimes came to light.
And why should the poor US population be made to account for the neocons' manipulation of their country...they suffered enough in the 30s because of it...let alone the wage slavery now.

He supported the UK during the Falklands which not many countries did in south America and during that time the knowledge of just how bad is ruthless streak wasn't known.... and to be honest you cant even compare him to Hitler who invaded other countries so i don't believe for one minute she would have supported him

It raises the question if she knew about Pinochet's dirty little secret in Colonia Dignidad.

Yes he was an allie of Britain during the Falklands. Maggie Thatcher knew he was the savior of Chile and had to purge the system of the commies. The death of 3,000 commies in 17 years is easily justifiable
