Can I just describe what I have experienced in MY lifetime:
In the 1970s we had conservative communists plotting in secret, Jimmy Carter, a liberal, trying his best but failing miserably against a right wing islamic state.
However in the 80s we had a liberal reformist Gorbechov, who took over the USSR and eventually persuaded the Conservatives in the White House that he wanted peace.
Now....? well we have right wing islamic clerics preaching hatred to impressionable young muslims to commit atrocities, along side a reactionary conservative President who doesn't know the meaning of the word "peace".
Now can you see the common denominator? RIGHT WING.....CONSERVATIVE....whatever you want to call it is the most destructive socialogical power in the modern world.

We just went through another election, with neither major party addressing the domestic problems or offering concrete plans to fix the the problems "they" created through corporate bribes and influence. They just all agreed the country is in a mess, blamed each other, and called each other names. No agenda for domestic priorities was set or solutions provided. Our corporate controlled mass media of "mass distraction" had you focused on Iraq, and lame threats that didn't exist from North Korea and Iran. So where did these threats go now that the elections over?

Our present corrupt government will never solve the problems of this country they created, unless we as a people establish our priorities and tell them the solutions the people want; not our corporations. I belong to "grass roots" groups for honest voting, social justice, etc. I know what the focus groups and polling showed me were the issues and what solutions they wanted. Please state your top priority and solution.

Just recently announced, what do you think?

FEC Settles With Three 527 Groups
The Federal Election Commission today announced that it has reached settlements with three 527 groups it had accused of violating campaign finance laws during the 2004 presidential election. Of the three groups — The League of Conservation Voters 527 and 527II, MoveOn.org Voter Fund, and Swiftboat Veterans and POWs for Truth — the largest settlement will be paid by Swift Boat Vets, at $299,500. Moveon.org's Voter Fund will pay approximately half that total, at $150,000.

I am not insinuating any wrong doing, what I am thinking is that public servants have a duty to keep themselves healthy don't they? What do you think is the answer to Sen. Johnson's situation? Bad genes, a bad lifestyle or a conspriracy? A lot is riding on his fitness to serve in the Senate...

I'm from NYC where parking is a jungle. As an unwritten rule, it's simple "first come first serve". You get there first with your "car", you get the space. No place holding allowed, or tolerated here.

Of course there are some exceptions. Someone is moving and needs to park in front of their door, picking up or dropping of the elderly, making deliveries, doing work in the building.....etc....

When out of towners try to stand and hold spaces, arguments usually ensue.

Here in NYC holding spaces is considered like cheating, or cutting in on line. But it's not like that in every town.

After telling them about local NYC parking etiquette, and they still persist, should I give them a break, or just tell them to get out of the way and bogart the space?

2 Thessalonians 2:1
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God,or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

Ezekiel 38:14
Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

This is not so much a question as a commentary. South Dakota Democratic US Senator Tim Johnson is in critical condition after undergoing emergency Brain Surgery. I AM A CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN!! afer this past Nov. elections the Democrats took control of the Senate 51 to 49, If Sen. Johnson dies or is unable to resume his duties, the Republican Governor of SD would appoint a replacement US Senator giving us a 50/50 Senate with VP Cheney, as President of the Senate, breaking the tie thereby handing control of the Senate back to the Republicans. THIS IS NOT THE WAY I WANT TO SEE CONTROL HANDED BACK TO US REPUBLICANS!! PLEASE PRAY FOR SEN. JOHNSON TO RECOVER AND PRAY FOR HIS FAMILY.The people have spoken, we got our *** handed to us, I would hope that the Republican Governor of SD, would if god forbid, the need arise to replace Sen. Johnson follow the will of the people of SD and appoint a Democrat. I really want to see an official rise above Party Loyalty just once.. AND SHOW SOME BALLS!

First of all let us all say a prayer for Rep Johnson and his family for a speedy recovery. I must however ask this question:

1. How long before the Democrats and media begin to hint that Dick Cheney poisoned the Representative, starting yet another ridiculous conspiracy theory (not unlike those related to Paul Wellstone).

2. Will the Dems fight the selection process in court (possibly forever) in an attempt to hold power regardless of rule of law. Consider the multiple recounts (which all showed Bush won) but that the Dems kept pushing for "one more recount", finally leading the Supreme court to say "Enough!"

Should the Rep. survive but remain incapacitated:

1. Will the Dems hold the seat, regardless of the fact that the Rep. cannot attend a single vote? If so, how will this help America?
