I would think removal of Representative government by constitutional amendment and replaced by majority rule and control by the legal citizens. You need to get rid of Arnold sent him back to Holywood!

Direct democracy usually refers to the initative/referrendum process. Enough people sign a petition and the people as a whole vote on wether or not to make it a law (or recall a state representative/govenor/local officer from office). In my state of California, this was done with recalling Grey Davis from the govenorship (and other propositions each year).
The biggest arguement is that the propositions often require few signature to get on the ballot, and often lobbies create counter propositions to confuse voters.

Just a load. Like anything in California. Read the stats. About the same as in Miami. Except Miami is a city and California is a state.
