Yes, it ain't over yet & it took 8 years of war in the American colonies before Democracy took complete hold of the new USA. But Unlike the American colonies Iraq doesn't have anything close to a Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Hamliton, or any of the founding fathers plus a major civil war on top of that equals anarchy & not democracy in Iraq. Want to stop the anarchy? Get US troops out of Iraq & let the Iraqi Shia & Sunnis fight it out & because the Iraqi Shia outnumber the Iraqi Sunni 4 to 1 that civil war won't last long (& there won't be any Al Qaeda training ground in the new Iraq because the Shia HATE the Sunni Al Qaeda).

Anarchy.

Do I need to remind you that they vote in Iran too, but I wouldn't really call that a democracy either.

He brought Democracy.

Remember that you are getting a very distorted picture of what is happening in Iraq. There is no 'Anarchy' there. Instead there is a functioning civil bureaucracy, police and courts. There is a Parliament that makes laws and a prime minister who runs the country.

They need time is all. So far they have come further in a shorter time than either Germany or Japan after WWII. Should we let the Iraqi people down simply because we are not holding the news media to task for not telling us the whole story?

Georgie "Warmonger" Bush and the Chaos Clan created a civil war in Iraq. They have brought anarchy to the streets and further destabilized the entire region. Democracy is not simply voting. War will never end the violence in the Middle East. The beliefs that separate the people of that area are too deep seeded.

There's no such thing as barging into someone's backyard and suddenly forcing them to prune their flowers the way you want it because it complements your neighbourhood, there is surely going to be trouble. Saddam ruled a place of uncertainty and extremism, where his certainty came from the way he ruled. I'm not saying that Saddam is a good person, he is far from that. However, with the conflicts that were there are more complicated and massive than just one horrible dictator alone. Bush unleased hell when he removed a working "control valve" and thought that he could put his own "control valve", but guess what? The pressure cooker burst.

It is not done yet(unless we cut and run) but he brought democracy but has not established an adequate rule of law. Plus, much of the violence is sectarian terrorism (sunni vs shia) that even a very firm rule of law would not completely stop.

Anarchy, civil war and complete destabilization of the Middle East just as anti-war demonstrators and others predicted before we were shouted down as 'lefty, do-gooders' and he invaded the country anyway.
