"Your faith lies elseware (sic) because you fear having faith in yourself."
Yeah, because mankind have done such a great bang-up job in this world, who needs to believe that their is something greater than ourselves.

Sorry but Ia m a Christian and I have a tremendous amount of self confidence and faith in myself. I could not do what I do for a living if I didn't. Seems the hate is being pushed by those who hate Christianity. As for being afraid, afraid of what? I still believe that I am responsible for my actions, and I believe that I control the direction my life takes and the decisions I make. My belief is not a crutch I need for support. As for the Atheists I have no problem with them believing what they wish. If they are right and I am wrong, well someday we will both return to the earth as all carbon life forms do. No harm done in my case. If I am right, well hate to be them in the after life huh. It is a win win situation for me! I also do not believe that Religion should be used a s a reason or justification for oppression. Just as I believe I have a right to my beliefs without being attacked by atheists. Religion has been the excuse for many wars, but try to remember that Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Genghis Khan were Atheists too.

naw religion plays an important role in all societies.
Gives people a common set of rules to operate under. The struggles in Europe over religion whew, what a nightmare. The death and destruction just so the Europeans could finally settle down a bit and live together under a common law.
It has it's price but i shudder to think how things would be with everyone simply making up the rules for themselves as they plodded along. You are aware that human being do have a darker and very depraved aspect. Are you not?

religion is for people who are scared. it makes them think they are safe. it's actually a very selfish and ignorant thing to believe - that YOU are so important that some IMAGINARY "being" in the sky is looking out for YOU.
You are nothing but a carbon-based life form with no meaning and purpose. No different from a bug, or a bird, or a tree.
Why would any supreme being be concerned about and bless a human? Humans are just like viruses (think The Matrix) . . . we show up somewhere, destroy everything in our path, then move on to another place. Just like a virus. We're no different.

Grow up, please.
I can't say this for everyone, but in my case, I came to faith through careful study. I looked at all the facts, all the myths, so many books you wouldn't believe. I was trying to write a paper to disprove Christianity, in turn I discovered that the evidence in support of it can hardly be refuted.
I am still very confident in myself, almost to a... no probably to a fault.

Religion is the opiate of the masses, a statement once said that holds true. All answers to all of our problems lie within our own spirit or brain. Christianinty lost ist appeall with its condemnation and domination tactics that were not employeed by the human being they worship.
