do you feel if the draft was to come back that more people would pay attention to the war? I was very against the draft until I thought that maybe if more people were affected by the war it would open there eyes. a volunteer armed service attracts, the ones who enjoy the military and the poor and middle class trying to better them self's with the education it provides. if the draft came back it would (Theoretically) show no favoritism and would bring the war close to the ones who sit in the ivory towers, fill there suv,s and have no idea and just follow with blinders on. maybe this is needed

Conservatives are also more apt to read the Lefts blather as (contrary to the popular view of the shrill screams from the Left)
conservatives are much more open minded.

For instance (gag) I read Maureen Dowd, Kingsley, NY Times op-ed, watch cnn frequently, Bill Moyers, Noam Chomsky, Molly Ivans etc. just to keep up with the liberal lemmings march to self-destruction.

If we as Americans are going to spend all the money and lives to take over Iraq for whatever reason should it not then be ours? What happened to the motto “to the victor go the spoils”? Why do we now feel the need to fix the country and give it back to them? I think that if we are going to take it and fix it then it is ours. Would that not serve as more of a deterrent for other countries who we might have issues with in the future.

well i was thinking , if adolf hitler didn't kill 6 million people and instead let those people work , do you belive he would have lost the war ?

because if he had let them live he would have stimulated his economy and in turn he would have been able to financially support his army and wouldn't have gone into debt .

This was added during the Eisenhower Admin in the 50s. I don't have to say it that way. The original version was just fine.

Do you think it is a good thing or not, if it is so easy to get a fake UK passport, why would it not be just as easy to get a fake ID, and who is going to police these ID cards, it could turn out to be yet another lucretive earner for both the gonernment and fraudsters alike

Why the hell is Tony Blair on tour in the Middle East & preaching to people about peace and democracy?

Isn’t Blair preaching peace & democracy, like Jack the Ripper teaching me respect towards women, or like Stephen Hawkins teaching me to breakdance & gangster rap?

Tony Blair is under Police investigation for undermining democracy by selling peerages. He ignored democratic opinion to wage the illegal war in Iraq. He deliberately manipulated intelligence to undermine democracy by deception.

The wars in Iraq & Afghanistan have killed hundreds of thousands and destabilised the regions, ending any hope of peace.

Should we bring Blair home before he breaks another country?

The Government wants to introduce ID cards on the UK public which will contain their biometric data and criminal records. They also propose to link them with the NHS, DVLA and Passport computers which mean you could access any information you want on a person with alarming ease.

Am I the only one who recognises this threat. The same company that caused the debacle with the passport computers a few years ago has the contract to run the scheme. They also hashed up the MOD system and are continuing to make a mess of the central NHS computer. All your personal details will be up for grabs by hackers. If kids can break into the pentagon and other U.S. government agency computers, what chance does this have. On top of that a private company will build and effectvely own the system.

5.6 billion is the estimate from the government which will invariably rise. On top of that they want us to fork out 200 uid for the pleasure. If we refuse, we risk a prison sentence. Discuss.

The USA seems to want to spread it's own form of democracy around the world, while it's record of fairplay at home is awful. The USA executes people, including the mentally ill. Treats blacks far worse than whites when handing down executions and prison terms. Cheats in it's own elections. Has had the two biggest corparate scandels of all times. The country also spends billions of dollars supporting countries with poor human rights records. Is this the way you want all countries to behave?

I was talking to a troop today at Best Buy. He’s not happy. Says they called him back for another yr. Must go, but doesn’t want to. I asked, “Why are we really over there?” He replied, “The oil.” Told him I was proud of him, but sad that he was unhappy. He replied, “Yeah, we shouldn’t be over there.” Anyone ells have a story?
