WASHINGTON (Dec. 17) - A former Georgia congressman who helped spark President Clinton's impeachment has quit the Republican Party to become a Libertarian, saying he is disillusioned with the GOP on issues such as spending and privacy.

Should other Republicans follow suit?

You can see a larger version of the chart here. It tells a pretty compelling story -- part of a compelling story. It was produced in December, but it's missing data for the months of September, October and November of this year -- a period of increased violence, according to news reports.

Department of Defense has suddenly classified the numbers of attacks in Iraq for September through November of this year -- after providing the figures for every month since the war began. Why classify the information now? If there's a good explanation, the Pentagon isn't returning calls.

What gives?

Do you tend to lean more toward believing in A or B?

OPTION A:
Abortion
Euthanasia
Atheism
Homosexual Marriage
Legalize Drugs
Large centralized government
Government is responsible for taking care of others
Redistribute of income, wealth and property
America is the root of evil in the world
Christmas and Christianity should be banned

OPTION B:
Belief in God
Homosexual Marriage is not the same as marriage between a man and woman
Individuals are responsible for taking care of others
Legalizing drugs would be harmful to society
A smaller, more decentralized government based on constitutional protections is better
Capitalism is not perfect but it creates wealth, jobs and individuals are entitled to what they earn.
America has flaws, but is still the best country
Christmas should remain a traditional holiday and Christianity has religious freedom like any other religion.
Abortion is really the killing of a child/fetus in the womb
Euthanasia is also killing with a fancy name

I think that what is wrong with America today is that everyone at one point complains about one thing or another to do with our government, or about a government funded agency in their area, but hardly anyone ever complains to the government about it, I think that if Americans would stop only whinning to each other about their problems and start taking legal action when they see something that is clearly immoral, corrupt, or wrong with the system, by calling, their governer, their congressman, and/or their local senator, more would be done to correct the system and they way it works/doesn't work. What do you think? Am I right?

They're wrong more often than not, and when you don't agree with them, they call names.

Often, I see people use the Soviet Union as an example of how communism failed. That was totalitarianism. You must understand the true theory. Marx wrote that in the true model, the state fades away. In the purest form, small communes are what it is about. And out of necessity, humans may have to resort to that in the future. It isn't over.

It's clear the U.N. is anti american. It's also clear the U.N. is a modern day version of the league of nations, all talk and no power to back up or enforce it's rulings. The time has come for the USA to leave the U.N., when they even lobby and in fact vote for a country like Venezuela to hold a position on the panel. They let Iran run their mouth and it's corrupted leader disgrace the jewish community. It's apparent through recent discussions and confrences that the U.N. is no longer looking out for the interest of America.

I say forget the U.N., it has become only a burden to us policy, questioning our moves only because of their hatred for the united states.
