But people are not going to make a subtle distinction at that point as they try and rip your gullet out

If a constitutional amendment were ever passes there could be a new market for flags with 49 or 51 stars or even stars in the wrong pattern. The law wouldn't be able to touch someone burning a such a "flag" but the people witnessing the burning wouldn't necessarily know it was a fake.
I don't agree with flag burning but I am also against a constitutional amendment prohibiting it. There are two types of burners in this country. Those who are burning it because of a pending court case and it's in the news and they can. Then there are those who are so pissed off at someone or something that they felt the only way to get their point across was to burn a flag. No one ever seems interested in why that person is so upset or listing to their grievance. Just a thought.

Burning flags is legal where burning is allowed...aka don't burn one in a national forest during a high fire risk or in a crowded movie theater.
The number of stars has no affect on the law. It is protected speech to burn a flag (with the above limit) BUT realize in a lot of situations you may be attacked and some juries could find that you started it (fighting words doctrine)...the fact that you weren't really burning an American flag will not matter.

You have the right to burn the US flag. In the US. Of course people won't like you much - but you live in a free country, and one of those freedoms is the freedom to criticise the country, through the burning of flags or whatever.
I think people who would hate you for burning the stars and stripes aren't going to count the stars on the flag carefully before reaching their judgement on you.

You can burn any flag. No matter how many stars it has or don't have. It's not against the law to burn an american flag anymore. It violated the constitutional law of "freedom of expression"

Yeah, its legal to burn any flag that you want.
But, what flag will you carry proudly ?
A North Korean, Iranian, Syrian, Palestinian, or I don't know whats the point.
The US flag to me represents my existence in a country that I LOVE and I will stand beside her. Whether our leaders have made good or BAD choices, WE the majority of Americans have voted them in, I usually get mad at MYSELF for the choice of whom I voted in.
We all need to share and bear the responsibility, for OUR countries sake.
God bless you and have a Merry Christmas !

that could be effective, and that could be honest, yet republicans may not in any respect enable this ensue. particularly because they some how believe that they lose their rights, at the same time as they supply different human beings rights, which actual liberals are merely attempting to make each and everything honest for all of us.

Worshipping a flag is idolatry.
You owe your life to God, not the state.
