Because its called the Euro.
And like most countries that join it would cripple our economy.
We recently had a German minister phone into a discussion on Radio 2 an say he'd love to join pound stirling.
There are other countries in Europe an surrounded by it that have kept their own currency.
Yes we use an E.U. passport.
Thats why it says European Union on the front cover!
Okay there may be a few old black passports about, but there will be no new ones, the funnie salmon coloured ones all have European Union at the head of the front cover.

As the pound was the strongest currency at the time and is still stronger than the Euro why should we change it??????????.As for the Euro Dollar there is no such thing its called the Euro.
As for the British passport we now have a red one which is also a European Community /United Kingdom Of Great Britain And Northern Ireland, well that's on the front of mine.So you should do your homework on the British passport first,as we had to change from our black one to the red EU one.

We don't use the "EU Dollar" (I think you mean the "Euro") because the British Government has opted out of using it.
The pound is currently stronger than the Euro so theres no reason to devalue our currency.
We currently use a British passport.

The Uk is APART from the EU, lol talk about an appropiate double meening!
look, try to understand that while we are a member state of the euro union we are not bound to use that infernal script called the euro (also known as toilet paper, monopoly money {cos thats what the eurocrats want....total monopoly} and the worst idea to come out of europe since HITLER).
We have a passport that now says europian union on it cos TONY BLAIRE IS A CHICKENS#$T WHO SNEAKED IT ON WITH OUT ASKING!!! we are a monarchy, independent and proud, anyone who wants to be european kindly take the euro-star-tunnel-thing to france (ONE WAY).
I have sent a note to all international terror groups starting with George Bush then osma'a boys and ending with Zionist terror exchange (better known as the state of israel) to please blow the damn thing up.... so please leave early to avoid drowning.
Ps... wh use the least respected currency in the world when you have the strongest ? USE YOUR BRAIN (as if u have any) ...IDIOTS

They like Denmark and Sweden opted out of that section of the Maastrict Treaty. The Euro has not crippled economies, those economies were declining anyways and are now rebounding slowly but it is stable growth. Ireland is in the Euro and we still have stronger growth than that of the UK. Ireland and Luxembourg are two of the richest countries per capita. The Euro would not hurt and economy that is ready for entry, it will encourage trade for businesses and competition as prices are more easily compared.

that's not difficulty-free to crystal ball gaze. the united kingdom is showing itself to be a truthful climate member. it is going to in basic terms defend its very own pastimes. this would backfire interior the destiny. it is going to likely be remembered for that's selfish behaviour. although, economics does not care approximately spilt milk. If the united kingdom reward different countries interior the ecu by ability of being a consistent member then it won't make any distinction what it has executed. As they say, "company is company".
