I hear a lot of talk about the horrible job they are doing?

now what should they have done... bear in mind.. you have no troops to work with, since no country wants to send troops there...

so, what would you do to stop the bloodshed?

Ben T... they don't have an army to do that... only a few loaned troops... a nation (probably several) would have to be involved and give troops... but I agree with you...

I was born in Sudan, and my entire family lives there. My mom hates them, my dad hates them, my family hates them, and I hate them. They complain about everything and do nothing. They're worthless! I go to Sudan every summer and see they're worthless troops. I'm sick and tired of it. You haven't seen what I've seen...so don't go and say they're doing the job. Cause if you can't do the job right then dont do it at all!

They should have gone in there, protected the innocent civilians by first threatening the killers, and if that did not work, kill all of the killers. And then allow the US (only country that can and will) to send in food and other supplies to help the people.

EDIT: I know they have no troops, and that is part of my point, the UN is just not going to work the way it currently is unless it starts seriously respecting the US more, and using the US at the same time. I mean not even that many troops would be required to calm the place down, because just the presence of them being sent by the UN would mean the entire world is standing behind those troops, and if they are killed, there will be a serious backlash

They don't need another repeat of Rwanda, I don't blame the UN they have put it out there, but many countries are too interested in making war or getting involved in causes that only benefit them. They are not interested in the weak and vulnerable. Maybe they should start screaming there is WMD or oil in Sudan and watch the fur fly then.

The U.N. should not do anything anywhere anymore. They should be dissolved. When ever they attempt to do anything they foul it up. They are run by a bunch of left wing liberals who feel guilty that they are not impoverished and think that it is the U.S.A. s fault.
