Why the hell is Tony Blair on tour in the Middle East & preaching to people about peace and democracy?

Isn’t Blair preaching peace & democracy, like Jack the Ripper teaching me respect towards women, or like Stephen Hawkins teaching me to breakdance & gangster rap?

Tony Blair is under Police investigation for undermining democracy by selling peerages. He ignored democratic opinion to wage the illegal war in Iraq. He deliberately manipulated intelligence to undermine democracy by deception.

The wars in Iraq & Afghanistan have killed hundreds of thousands and destabilised the regions, ending any hope of peace.

Should we bring Blair home before he breaks another country?

He has lost the plot indeed but there's no real need for him back here anytime soon ;)

Things are a mess at home and not looking to get any better any time soon, so he's off on the classic lame duck farewell tour to middle east, still in the belief he has all the political capital he had ten years ago, and desperate to be remembered for something other than Iraq. Remember Clinton at the end of his second term and his efforts with the Israelis and Palestinians that eventually came to nothing, the same precious little will happen with 'Tony, just enjoy the ridiculousness of it all while it lasts.

Merry Christmas!

Blair is no better than Hitler/Stallin in my eyes, He says our troops will stay till the job is done... er what job exactly? to make sure that the UK's military forces disband, ruin both countries chances of a decent life. As long as our troops remain in both countries then the threat of terrorist attacks in this country and the US will remain also.

He is ruining the Forces and making sure that we dont have an army so that there wont be a military coup against him.

As for Jrok's answer... you are obviously either blind, deaf or american... or all 3... Blair the man of the century?... all for the wrong reasons!!! He doesnt know his backside from his elbow let alone knowing good from bad!!!

I don't think he had some kind of genetic engineering in mind when he came up with this idea :o). I suspect that if one did a study of legal transgressors backgrounds, kids with ASBOs and the like, they would tend to come by and large from certain domestic backgrounds. This idea isn't rocket science and there are some sweeping generalisations involved. However I think the idea is not invalid. In the past such overseeing roles tended to be done the wider family, but as our society has tended to fragment and family break up occur much more commonly than in the past, those in such a supporting/guiding role are no longer there. He obviously feels that some Social Services department can take on that role. I doubt it myself.

B-liar & Bush with their henchman should be stripped of office and put on trail for genocide on the Iraqi and Afgan population, crimes against humanity and practice of torture and perjury for knowingly mis- informing the parliament in the UK and the British people, also the breaking of the UN charter.
The current B-liar tour just proves again how morally corrupt and what form of hypocrite B-liar realy is "a shame on our good countries name"
Also note the brave and the bold integrity of the politicians of his own and the other parties standing in silence like donkeys.
We really do not have anything or anyone to respect in our whole political system.
It is a terrible tragedy and a warning to us all that we have a political system that allows such freedom and authority of action by individuals against the majority wish..
Absolute power corrupts absolutley - B-liar is insane.

you are so right! in fact he shouldn't just be brought home he should be put in prison and tried for crimes against humanity.

unfortunately whilst at least 40% of the population would probably agree... only about 10% of them actually voted in the last election, and the rest have no means to do anything about it now... they lost their opportunity.

his reason for being out there? i think this latest development is to bide time and conceal the real agenda, what ever that agenda might be, whilst bush sorts his house out.

what is really needed os the widow of a soldier who has died out there to sue blair and his govt. and go as high profile with it as possible.

The sad thing is that Carpetbagger Bliar has been around and telling lies for so long nobody takes any notice of him.
Bliar wouldn't know the truth or the reality of the situation if a primary school teacher tried to explain it to him.

As his time in office runs short, he desperately seeks new and contraversial issues with permanent consequences.
His time as Pm has been pretty ineffectual , his psychological profiling shows he is aware of this and is trying to compensate with authoritorian method hoping for a favourable legacy.

Sorry tony, but you will be forgotten.

If we're not listening to him, do you think THEY'RE listening to him? If they have any sense, they'll turn to each other when he's gone & say, "Yeah, those Brits DO have a crackpot leader!"
