I feel it will eventually be legalised. I believe once the U.S. finds a reasonable way to tax, and limit it's growth in private home they will try everything they can to capitalize off it. Look at tobacco. In a sense Alcohol is worse than marijuana. This is coming from someone in a law enforcement community. I have dealt with both end of the spectrums and in my experience alcohol caused more deaths and accidents. In fact I never dealt with a marijuana related death in my career of law enforcement. I will be legal all in good time.

Here's the thing: the drug situation is nationwide what prohibition was to Chicago. The criminals don't want pot to be legalized because it would eliminate that aspect of the "drug war." The politicians don't want it legal because then they don't have a high horse to stand on.

Remember what happened when alcohol became legal again? All the people providing the illegal goods were out of a job.

Gee, hard to have a drug war when you can pick it up at your local pharmacy, huh? But then all those millions of dollars they give to law enforcement would have to be reallocated.

Many Americans are craving for the legalization of marijuana and this could happen especially that the Democrats will have control of the Congress next year.

No but it will be decriminalized. Already in california all you need is a doctors recommendation which you can get for a variety of things like-I get headaches. It is very easy to get papers and go purchase marijuanna legally there. They government makes too much money from seizing assets of dealers to ever make it 'legal'
