I hope you remember this dumb comment when you make a mistake that requires our help to get you out. We all make mistakes, sometimes fatal ones. Maybe you would rather I not stop & use my cell phone to call 911 after you crash while talking on your cell phone while driving, for example..

As for the ignorant idiot who claims welfare such as SS & Medicare takes 60% of the budget - Inventing statistics is lying, in you case by about 45 %. FYI, SS & Medicare money all comes from premiums paid during your working life to fully fund them. Not one dime comes out of general tax money, & is fully funded for the next 20+ years. They are not welfare & the SS fund is not actually a part of the federal budget, even though those funds have been paying the interest on the National Debt our Republican leaders keep running up every time they are in power. That interest, by the way, would be the highest budget item if it was ever fully paid, running close to the War Budget, which may be occasionally higher..

Even Steven Hawking could find himself in one of your "sticky situations" some day. Should we let him die?

Welfare, medicare, social security, etc.
Well over 60% of the federal budget, wich is ~$3 Trillion per year.
~$1.8 Trillion out of a national GDP of ~$12 Trillion, or a little more than 15% of our entire economy.

Imagine the great things we could do if we didn't have to waste so much money on life's loosers.

I'd say Bush has spent almost a half-trillion in Iraq.
