I am a single mother who has a full time job and make just enough money to pay the bills. It is difficult for me to put gas in my car and do little extra's like, birthday parties, Christmas....
I do not qualify for financial assistance, but feel that I should. I am not asking for much just maybe food stamps to help us get by.
I am owed a large amount of child support, but can not receive it b/c my sons father is incarcerated.
The logical thing would be to get another job, but I can not do that because I don't have child care accessible to me on nights and weekends.
Am I missing something?

What percent of the people currently on this board do you think understand the term Machiavellian?
I'm no genius. I don't have a college education. I'm not trying to act smarter than anyone.
Are Republicans the way they are because they never read The Prince? Does anyone read the classics in America? Or are we all Fox News and Rush Limbaugh following drones?

It seems like Republicans are always excusing Bush's screw ups by saying he's doing the best he can with what he got. Are they just saying this is the best of all possible worlds?

Pearl Harbor was bombed at the depths of the great depression in 1941. 4 years later under FDR and a democratic congress America emerged as the strongest nation on Earth.

Bush and Republicans are on a 5 1/2 year downward slide from 9/11.

I would imagine that NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM, ("the new order of all that which is worldly", literally) is simply the utopian vision of some group responsible for drawing up constitutions of the new countries, such as the US, Australia, Argentina, etc. And we know there appears to be a funamentalist islamic order out there, as well - but are there any others? The communists have left the stage. When I visit countries like Norway, Austria, and Germany, I get the impression they've got theirs, but I couldn't say what it is (no, it's not the Old World Order, because I think that would be Europe's old feudal system, wouldn't it :-) ?
Anyone with insight care to philosophize?
Cheers.

I don't see any when I go vote, and there are quite a few around in my area... they don't seem to care about politics? and they are pretty poor, and the poor statistically don't vote hardly at all...

how do they even get registered? I had to show my id to be registered... and if you're not registered, you can't vote... and when one person votes, they mark the name off? so how do they vote?

are there any facts about illegals voting? citations from a story about them being caught?

maybe I just missed it?

Ok, Im an Aussie just asking a question, not picking on on side or the other. Who is truly embarrassed at having George Bush as their countries President, just give yes or no answers if you could please. Sorry if this is hitting the nerves of those that do like him and the nerves of those that don't, thus the request for "yes" or "no" answers. :)

Just wondering since our government in SA is spending huge money on the event. They think its the answer to all our problems.
If you are coming, please go back to europe and tell the leaders of your contries what SA is really like. Our government is running the country into the ground, we probably gonna end up like Zimbabwe. There is no hope for a white in SA, like me.

I know this is going to get some things started, because I've seen the posts. I have a very real question though. I've noticed that occasionally, more often than not, Democrats make stupid comments on here about Republicans and religion. Then, the Republicans respond by lumping all of the Democrats into one stereotypical group.

For instance, I've heard someone call us something like, "drug-abusing, teenage impregnating, burger flippers". Why do you insist on calling ALL of us that, when only one person has made that comment?

In fact, my husband and I are both Democrats. My husband is an Engineer, and I am a stay at home mom with my own business (and a "liberal arts" degree...which another Republican mocked). Neither of us have ever flipped burgers, we don't do drugs, and I got pregnant after marriage at 25. So, really, why attack an entire politican party?

Oh, and the last time I checked, our President did drugs...so I would keep that one out of it.
