I realise that every citizen in Brunei is given just over US$20,000 for pocket money every year and education and medical is free for its citizens and Brunei citizens pay no taxes to their government. However there is no democracy there , no one man one vote , the Brunei king runs the whole country and makes decisions for the direction of his country and builds big and luxurious palace as he sees fit.
In Britain , so many people are so tired of politics and politicans that all they want is to have the economic freedom to move overseas.
So I think economic freedom and physical freedom is more important than political freedom.

So now the lefties at CNN, the netword of Daffy Ted Turner and his former bride Hanoi Jane Fonda, are airing films of enemy snipers shooting Americans. These are nothing more than Muslim Terrorist Snuff Films and whoever's responsible should be in prison. I say that the CNN reporters should be removed from their embedded positions with the military and their press credentials should be revoked. Any of you liberals disagree with that?

IT IS VERY ENLIGHTENING.
Conservatives generally carry these ideals:
Balancing the budget, small govt, limited govt, moral values...

But Neoconservatives have impulsively done this:
$8.5 trillion deficit, big business-supported government, new controversial laws being passed all the time because of "national security" that increases the power of the govt to the point of beyond extemity, and misleading the American public about the war without reluctance.

You really shouldn't identify yourself with radical neo-conservative beliefs unless you want to be known as a neoconservative.
True conservatives would not support the government's actions.
I would hope you still support traditional conservative values.

I have talked to many former republicans who have switched to libertarians in order to remain true to the core conservative beliefs.

Did republicans switch from conservative to neoconservative once Bush came along?

Yes, you are right; up to a point. Oppenheimer is of German (Yiddish) extraction, which I don't think is native. Now you are missing the point. Which is; illegal immigrants to the US are only following a long tradition. I don't believe that any of the Huron or Sioux or Navajo (et al) actually invited Europeans over to wipe them out. Dobbs, indeed, is an English name. The American Revolutionary War was fought over the idea of "No taxation without representation". As illegal immigrants do not have representation why should they pay tax? Your country was built on an ideal you are trying to defend without the knowledge of how it was built. So yes, I apologise for being insulting, but perhaps you ought to brush up on your history before you start making a fool of yourself among those who are not foolish. It's people like you that cause unrest. And when you have the bollocks to defend what you claim to believe in, like, for example, going to Iraq, then let me know. Until then, best to keep yourself to yourself. Put your money where your mouth is or shut up.

Why is the government planning to allow the growing of GM crops in the UK when there is very little prospect of acceptance by the buying public and every indication that most shops would refuse to stock them. The (American) promotors say we 'need to be educated'! Well, I for one will not be told by anybody what I must eat. I predict that we will see GM crops burning in the fields if this pointless profit-centered 'science' is foisted on highly sceptical British consumers. Clearly there is a hidden agenda at work - and I bet several very fat 'brown envelopes' are already changing hands!

(By the way, which are your favorite national anthems? Personally, I like the US's, UK's, ex-USSR's, Russia's national anthem. And surely many other ones I don't know yet...)
