it means @$$ wipes will no longer steal my identity to further their addiction to it. I lost 400$ because someone stole my identity and put a hold on my savings account, in the name of some internet casino site.

I am a professional poker player and writer and make most of my money on-line. On the plus side as result of the new law I've had plenty to write about but the future of my lively hood is in doubt. While I am unhappy about possibly being forced to find a new way to support myself I am encouraged by the efforts that the Poker Players Alliance and pros like Doyle Brunson and Mike Sexton doing to improve the situation. They are working alongside average players like you and me who care about the game of poker to get the law repealed or changed to make an exception for poker. What angers many of us the most is the way they snuck the law through as an amendment in a port security bill that was virtually guaranteed to pass. On-line poker has nothing to do with port security. As for me it's I see it as my duty to continue playing poker for as long as possible and to support the sites that have taken a stand and are still supporting American players. I've listed my favorites sites that are accepting US players below and a couple of great resources if you are serious about poker.

It means that millions upon billions of dollars will stop flying out of our economy and into some other country's economy.

Play poker like in the old days: over a bottle of bourbon and a deck of cards with some friends.

It's certainly got people thinking about their government. Why, exactly, should Americans NOT be allowed to play poker?

I no longer have to worry about how such websites make money, because the temptation to join is gone. I no longer play for money since I haven't the spare cash to buy into anything but penny-ante.
