It makes no economic sense if Bush is pals with all the US oil producers. Crude oil is a commodity, the prices are established based on supply and demand and takes factors that may affect those two into consideration.

Iraqi oil was only avavilable through the corrupt Foor-For-Oil program, limiting thew world's supply of oil and driving the prices up. (Limit supply without altering demand equal higher prices for the commodity.) So the price of US crude would go up benefitting Bush's oil baron buddies.

By freeing Iraq and having the UN to remove the oil sanctions that created an much greater supply which would (theoretically) drop. The price drop would hurt Bush's oil buddies. The cost of producing the oil is constant, the cost of the price of worldwide crude is the variable that determines profit.

So if Bush went into Iraq for oil the result would have been to drive down world crude prices. How exactly does that benefit the US oil producers as many people here speculate?

The Government says racism should be stamped out but they breed it by changing wording like "winter lights" instead of Christmas lights. Some schools have stopped doing the nativity. So who are the racists?

What is up with male/female equality! So women want to be equal to men right? If they want to be equal to us they expect us to treat them better than we treat our fellow men! I think that they really want to be better than us, be pamprered and not have to work like us to get our pay for example. What are your feelings on this matter? If you want to be equal with us you will get the same treatment, not better or worse but the same; and you will have to live with it. Please give me your feelings on this matter

Remember when Yorkshire tried to campaign for its own government (see http://www.telegraph.co.uk/htmlContent.jhtml?html=/archive/1999/03/18/nyor18.html for more info.) What ever happened to that? Do they still have a website or is there still even a campaign? Just wondering... they had there own flag and everything!

First we find out that clitoon could have had OBL multiple times and did nothing, which had he acted 911 might not have happened and now, North Korea has nuclear weapons.

What other debacles are going to pile onto the clitoon legacy?

After this one does anyone think his wife will be any different?

Mayor Ray Nagin wants a “chocolate” New Orleans
On MLK Day, a day named in honor of a man who fought for equality, New Orleans Mayor and all-around bigot Ray Nagin called for a “chocolate New Orleans” - in front of a crowd that had gathered at City Hall for a MLK Day march:

“We ask black people … It’s time for us to come together. It’s time for us to rebuild New Orleans — the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans,” Nagin said Monday. “This city will be a majority African American city.
And in what could only be characterized as an imitation of Pat Robertson, Nagin added:

It’s the way God wants it to be. You can’t have New Orleans no other way. It wouldn’t be New Orleans.”

- He wants a chocolate New Orleans? Let's let Neslte build it for them then - We all know Nestle makes the very best chocolate!

Everyone will remember the name Mark Foley and what he did but Congressman Mel Reynolds(d) gets barely any mention. Why would the media saturate itself in a republican doing something disgraceful but not a dem who did something more disgraceful.

I don't like republicans do in general, but one congressman can affect the whole republican party's polls with an near-sex scandal? That's kinda ridiculous don't you think. Its like implying that all republicans were in on sending sexy emails to minors.

I feel this is another indication that democracy or mobocracy is imperfect. You want to let the majority make big decisions, but you don't make them take time out to learn the issues. Therefore myths, TV campaign soundbytes, and religion take center stage. I think Americans should be required to study for 1 week out of the year on all major issues and reading viewpoints from both sides. That would be a true democracy. Right now, I feel it is a oligarchy struggling to please the whims of a mobocracy.

I love America though.
