Possibly 3, probably 2. The Shiites and Sunni's could end up with separate countries but the odds are the Sunni's will govern a country with both groups and a lot of problems. If things fall apart much more it seems very possible that the Kurdish people will pull away and declare an official Kurdish state. If the y can iron out the problems this will cause between them and Turkey it seems doubtful anyone (but Turkey) could stop them right now.

None, it will just become a territory of the US, just like Puerto Rico. It can then be used for military bases and a good place to launch an attack against Iran.

I would say no more than two. One for sunni and shia muslims and one for the Kurds.
