Letter I wrote to the Daily Mail newspaper today.
am 51 years of age British born and suffering with chronic pain due to osteoarthritis of both hips and the middle of my spine. I was also born with rotational scoliosis. I am unable to work due to my condition. The only benefit I am currently entitled to is £16.50 a week DLA (Disability Living Allowance) because my husband works. My husband is on the lower end of the income scale but this stops me from qualifying for income based Jobseekers. I do not qualify for contribution based jobseekers or Incapacity Benefit because I have not paid enough into the system. I also do not qualify reduced dental and eye testing, free prescription charges, council tax benefit or concessionary travel around the city of Peterborough where I live. I am in urgent need of dental treatment and I have had since July a new prescription for varifocal glasses which I cannot afford to get made up due to the cost. I am being denied basic healthcare.

Do you want the USA to get out of the world political scene. Should They keep their nose out of everyones else bussiness. If you do should they also keep their help when things go bad, either from mother nature or man made. Should those Americians keep all their aide money. Basicly should the Americians keep to themselfs and say to hell with the rest of the world.

Giuliani was an unpopular mayor of New York, a sleazeball who tried to move his girlfriend into the Mayor's mansion while his then-wife still lived there! He was in the wrong place at the right time when 9/11 struck, and for that he's some sort of hero? New York would have rallied around anyone who was mayor at the time; and frankly, that he made New Yorkers "feel better" is of no consequence to me.

Now, once again, he's trotting around the country boosting the electoral chances of Republican candidates. He praises their passive acquiescence in the "War on Terror" while their overall records encompass other issues in undesireable ways. Like that boob Rick Santorum. He also raised money for Ralhp Reed, who was implicated in the Jack Abramoff corruption racket. Why doesn't he just BUTT OUT?

Giuliani has been exploiting 9/11 long enough. It's unseemly, and his glory is undeserved. Time for him to go away, forever.

HOW AMERICAN "CONSERVATIVES" ARE THE BOBBSEY TWINS OF ISLAMIC EXTREMISTS:

1) Both reject the idea that government and religion should be kept separate. Government should enforce THEIR religion.

2) Both are highly offended by sexual freedom, and demand that sexuality be purged from society.

3) Both despise Liberalism.

4) Both resent dissent from their views and policies, which are the oly acceptable ones.

5) Both are harsh, punitive, and vindictive.

It is not ironic that American "conservatives" have made an enemy out of Isalmic extremists. In looking at them, they see a reflection of themselves, so they understand well what they're dealing with: Tyrants much like themselves.

Some people say "Bush lied" about WMDs. If that's true, then he had to know, or at least believe, they were NOT there. Is that what people really believe? Just curious. Thanks.

This question is all about the second amendment. I'd appreciate any liberal answers. Why do some people want to disarm good, law-abiding people. The crime-rate has dropped 50% since the concealed carry permits became available. If you came home, to find an adult raping your daughter, and he had a knife, and you had a gun, what would you do? Guns are central to our country. And by the way, since the constitution says that a well formed militia can have guns, the government can't disarm any of the thousands of civilian militia paramilitary groups because they are legal militias. As a member of the NRA, I will fight to the death for American's right to bear arms. Anti-gun people can leave, because we don't want them. Go to Japan, or Canada, or England, or Australia. You'll fit in. But, Gode damn it, this is America! The Government can't disarm us while we still breathe. They'd have to kill us all.

My group of friends even had differences of opinion as to what "Big Brother Politics" actually is. Cheers to a lively discussion!!!

Do you agree that alcohol has caused more death than marijuana?
I think that it is not fare to allow alcohol to be sold Knowing it cause death not only to the people that consume but innocent people who dont drink even children.I dont think it is fare that it should be legal to sale. Now the goverment knows the issues and deaths that have been alcohol relaleted. To the point where u cant drink and drive.but its sold all day an some places 24-7.do u really agree to some point that its the drunk driver's fault when some one is killed over alcohol what about the law should it be responsible . Its like a drug dealer he puts out the drugs for instace marijuana. The law goes after the person who is feeding the drug to people and make a big deal and charge..But yet no one goes after the one who feed the alcohol to people.but charge the cosumer with D.U.I If it was not legal this person may not of caused this accident.no matter what.marijuana slow 's you down but acohol gives you black ou

The bill was originally introduced in the House of Representatives by Representative Goodlatte and was attached to "must pass" legislation in the Senate by Senator Frist. It was a total sham that gambling on-line was made illegal by attaching it to a piece of must-pass legislation at the last minute.
When did the "conservative" position mean that you prohibit adults from doing what they would like with their own money? Personal responsibility is the entire basis for a conservative philosophy and this legislation flies completely in the face of it. When did the Republican Party become the nanny for the nation?!
I strongly believe that the government should not attempt to prohibit online gambling by adults. Millions are in of favor legalization, regulation and taxation of online gambling by the government of the United States but to prohibit it is not exactly letting us be the Land of the Free is it?
Those in congress who let this pass by should be ashamed of themselves!

whilst it is ok for others countries to have them? So they are a Communist country.. so what? I doubt very much that North Korea would be so stupid as to start a nuclear war just for the sake of it...
and no I'm not a Communist I'm just a realist... why should super powers be able to dictate who should and should not have nuclear capabilities and how can America speak of breach of by Korea of UN regulations when they did the very same thing by going to war in Iraq?

A British company has produced a sordid little flick - filled with wishful thinking - about the death of Bush.
Certain cinema chains are doing the correct thing, and refusing to show it. Now some of the Brits are whining about censorship.

In 1975, Rod Steiger acted in a film called 'Hennessy', about an IRA plot to blow up parliament and kill the Queen.
Dramatic footage was intercut with footage of the Queen and Parliament in session.

The film was banned in Britain.
