...and the natives of America want their land back. We all are entitled to something as we all suffered losses. To me, the best thing would be is just to accept the fact that a great deal of evil has been done and to agree to not commit anymore evils in the future. For instance, the U.S. do not enslave people anymore because owning people is evil. The past can not be changed but we can work for a better tomorrow. Reparations, unless given to everyone, will better our futures.

I can understand your opinion on this issue because both are historical events that happened in this country and both needs to be addressed promptly.. But just like the African Americans felt that going to there senators to put this issue to congress then that is maybe what you should do to. There were plenty of men that died fighting for the same liberties that we have today and I too think that it is only fair that the government repay all of thoughs soldiers both black and white as well as the slaves that suffered so much reparations.

This country owes it to all of those who have lost there lives and African Americans (whether you agree with me or not) should get back reparations for all the hardship and anguish that was suffered in there time of slavery. And to all of the civil war patriots there should be something given to them because it is only fair and I believe that very much.
Like I said I agree with everything you are saying not because I am an African American but because we are a country of liberties and laws and those same people that fought both black and white something should be given back to them, as well as thoughs who suffered during slavery. It is only fair!

While were at it I want reparations from the Brits for kicking my family out of Canada and mismanaging Ireland so bad my ancestors had to leave. I want reparations from the Italians for enslaving my ancestors in Gaul (France). Thankfully my ancestors survived the civil war. However my civil war ancestor was in andersonville for two years and we should be compensated for that horror show.

I thought reparations were paid in the purchasing of Liberia from France for the slaves to return to their homeland. When the slaves chose not to return they were forfeiting the rights of any reparations. That decision cannot be second guessed by the distant relatives of those who made an informed choice.

As someone whose family was not in America prior to 1930, nad had nothing to do with slavery or Democrat segregationist racism in the South, I resent even the concept that I would be forced to pay for reparations for someone who was never a slave.

People need to get over themselves and stop blaming others for their personal failures.

You have got to be on drugs! You must not have studied your history if you believe the civil war was all about freeing slaves! Go to your library and do research! You have absolutely no idea what it's like to get ripped away from your home, be chained in the bowels of hot--rat infested-bug infested slave ships, brought to this new land, and sold like animals. African kings and queens were treated no different than white folks horses and dogs. Don't come off saying what you think you are entitled to as a descendant of a white person who fought in the civil war. If the europeans, who all whites are descendants of, had stayed their behinds in europe and left this country alone, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO CIVIL WAR!! Think before you say things like you did.

DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE WHITE PEOPLE DIED FOR THE FREEDOM OF AFRICAN SLAVES?
YOU ARE EITHER VERY IGNORANT OR SEVERELY CONFUSED. WHITE PEOPLE WERE LYNCHING BLACK PEOPLE IN THE NORTH BECAUSE THEY SAID SLAVES WERE THE CAUSE!

The Civil War started because the southern slave states and its supporters were making more MONEY than Northern states and their supporters.
WHY WOULD WHITE PEOPLE DIE FOR SOME N****R SLAVE!
Furthermore Abraham Lincoln helped free the slaves not because he wanted to (which he didn't), but to stop all the fussing and fighting; mainly jealously among rich whites and poor whites. Lincoln was a smart man. With no power to free slaves himself he duped the slaves with the Emancipation Proclamation, believing they were free which made slave owners whose army was kicking the North's BUTT to leave the front line and go back to watch their property (i.e. slaves).
About this time slaves joined the Union army and helped it toward victory.

Since when was the civil war about slavery, freedom or otherwise. It was basically about the whites wanting to keep things their way. I personally do not seek reparations, but if you give reparations to one, why not to all. Didn't some Jews get reparations?

There is no plausible justification for reparations. Every slave is long dead. Our modern culture celebrates easy money, and those in favor of reparations merely have dollar signs in their eyes.

It's an issue which is a waste of time.

Good point.
Democrats want to keep blacks, poor whites, and other minorities on the Democrat Plantation.
They use promise of reparations and welfare to do it.
