I would say not the President and the executive branch, but look more toward the Congress. It is they who are the whores, the money-grubbing power-lust whores.

Look at the lobbying they receive. Look at the fact they get to vote their own wages, compensations, pensions and benefits. They pass campaign finance reform laws which only seem to create increased incumbency rates. They are as crooked as the day is long.

So look not to the Admins, but to Congress. You also need to recognize that government regulation usually ends up helping the big companies against competition from small companies, because they cannot afford the costs of compliance. Also look at all the buying of Congressional votes that goes on.

Both parties will vote against the interests of the people, if it puts $$ in their coffers.

My grandfather had a saying: "If on Sunday you took all of the money in this country and distributed it evenly to every person in this country, by Friday it would all be back where it started."

Not only is that (obviously) true, it doesn't matter who's in power, absent a totalitarian dictatorship. This is just the way the world works. Get used to it.
