so-called "celebrities" have egos the size of the moon and the brains to boot (solid rock). they think they know about everything and that everyone wants to hear from and see them.
i wouldn't get off this chair for a one of them, much less pay to see them on or off screen.

As I am not famous, I am only guessing here, but I would say an over inflated sense of self righteousness and importance. I would think that someone who is in the spotlight as a career actually enjoys being there, and may go a little out of their way to stay there. Taking up a cause is a pretty easy way to get attention. Taking up a cause leads to political involvement.
Now on the other hand, they might just be rich and have some time to spare and a good heart. So they take up a cause that they feel is worthy and the same outcome occurs.
Either way, an inflated ego or a big heart, they have the money, time and influence needed champion a cause or enter politics.

WITHOUT PREJUDICE, I note that many Jewish people engage in politics. Ten percent of our U.S. Senators are Jewish, versus about 3% of the general population. Nothing wrong with that at all. A few, like Joe Lieberman, aren't even all that far left, but most are Democrats (Schumer, Feinstien, Boxer, Levin, Lautenberg, Feingold, etc.)

A very high percentage of "showbiz" people are "reformed" Jews, who are typically liberal). Conservative or "observant" Jews, who regularly attend Temple, and are likely to be doctors, lawyers, etc., sometimes vote Republican, at least in the midwest. I have seen liberal and conservative in the same immediate family. Of course Hollywood and much of the west coast is liberal.

i think of the genuine questions must be a million.) "Why is it that celebrities and showbiz artists get castigated for expressing a political opinion whilst their habit is precisely what we would like extra human beings to do?" 2.) "shouldn't we be giving hell to the human beings who do not talk up and show a political attitude? - are not they the genuine problem with us of a of america?"

it's because they LOVE THEMSELVES so much, they need to feel more important, so what's a higher status than being in showbiz? to be in showbiz, AND politics

They have name recognition, and it easily transfers. People tend to trust them, feel psychologically close to them.
