8.2 billion to send 6k more soldiers to iraq/afganistan.

Nice, idiot. Shouldn't be there in the first place.

All our taxes are going to the death of innocent soldiers, this war is over, go kill someone else for oil! Meanwhile, schools are falling apart, and so are hospitals. No money, its in bush's pocket, and the rest is in the ordering of guns, and the exsictution of soldiers trying to protect a used-to-be safe america.

He is ruining the country, which will soon be bankrupt, and wil be in the 21st century depression, where our dollar will be worth .001 euro. Soon he will be out of money, and the war will end. Why doesn't he spend his own money? (hopefully not!) WE ARE OUT OF MONEY, AND LIFE!!! YOU SPENT ENOUGH, WE LOST ENOUGH!

Not to say I believe in war as a way to solve problems (except in extreme cases). But, do you think having experienced a war first hand would make the person think more critically about being involved in a war or give them more insight on how to handle decisions concerning them once involved?

The only answer is the destruction of our entire being, down to our very core of existence. It is virtually impossible for humans to maintain equilibrium of peace, prosperity and selflessness between each other. The bible preaches those core values above all else, yet the bible has been the cause of more bloodshed then any other object or source since the beginning of our species. We fight to the death over the minor details on politics and so one would have to ask “how could something so benevolent turn into something so evil?” It is our nature of course, our greed, our jealousy and our close-mindedness that sparks the burning fire of violence, destruction and finally assimilation into the conformity of one society under one absolute power, pitted against another absoulte power be it one individual or a party of individuals and it is through this greed in our nature that we can never obtain true freedom. Even if we had “true freedom” it would be fleeting.

As a hypothetical, knowing what you know today about how everything is going and how we didn't find any real Al-qaeda links to Sadaam and no WMDs. I'm not saying Sadaam was a saint by any means, but I still don't feel he was a threat to our national interests, seeing as he ran a more secular form of government when comparing his reign to others in the Middle East. What we have in Iraq now is a vacuum of power which is swiftly being filled with Radical Islam (which is our real enemy in this war). Do you wish Bush would have waited until he got better intelligence on the Iraq matter, or do you appreciate the "act now, ask questions later" approach? Is that way of thinking dangerous for the US? Your thoughts?

I think we should put factories in prisons and let the inmates make the money to pay back the country for thier keep. They eat three meals a day and cost us a fortune in medical treatment (better than I get) and do nothing since there is no rehabilitation in prisons anymore.

I have read a lot of questions, and answers, on this site and other as well having watched the news and other related television programs where I constantly hear people saying, and see people writing, the most absurd things about American law and politics. The abusrdity comes into play when they mix either of these things with religious (typically Christian) sentiments. Why has America forgotten that we are a logical, secular country in our very foundations? Where did the seperation between church and state go as dictated in a letter by Thomas Jefferson? Why don't we think for ourselves rather than using the philosophy of our parent's parent's parent's, etc.? Don't you think it's even a little bit abusrd to be electing officials and trying to run a country using ideas and morals written by old jewish guys over 2,000 years ago?
