Gas prices went way up, rationing took place and the auto industry tanked.

You forget the US managed to get over the embargo. The countries that blocked exports to the US suffered and we cut our outflow of cash. Today the US should impose gas rationing and cut oil usage to let the Arab countries know we can do without them. That goes for the nut in Venezuela too. Americans have always stood up to tyrants and if we can muzzle Pelosi and the gang we will succeed against the terrorist. Pressure enables those with backbone to stand out while those cowards squirm in the halls of congress.

3,but also the yom kippur war was part of the cause of the embargo. Israel was losing and threatened to use nukes if the US didn't help them. to be fair the soviets were airlifting supplies to egypt, syria and their allies. so it was a little of 1 too. not sure about 4,as it did help push for the camp david accords. outside interference has been the biggest cause of problem in the ME
