N.M. Governor Bill Richardson is a good Democrat candidate that probably doesn't have a chance. He served 7 terms in Congress; was U.N. ambassador; was Secretary of Energy and successfully negotiated release of hostages on 6 occasions. I'm having trouble with the Republicans candidates thus far. They are all over the place on social issues. Guiliani was pro-abortion and gay rights--now he isn't. I need some more candidates to find a Republican with a reliable record. BTW-I have no problem with a candidate changing positions on an issue if the candidate has learned more about the issue that's persuasive. I cannot vote for someone who changed his/her position just to get elected. That goes for both sides. I have strong beliefs but I don't expect to find a perfect candidate and I can accept that, but I'd like a candidate that's reliably liberal, conservative, moderate or whatever--not one who keeps changing to fit the fashions of the day.

Not really, most people are not willing to suffer the attacks by the opposition and the press, put their families at risk, and pretty much end the rest of their private lives for the job.

there is only one!!
Ron Paul, R, Texas
unfortunately, he won't even get the republican party nomination. he is the only true conservative and constitutionalist running - which is sad, sad, sad.
