Idle industries have cast workers into unemployment, causing human misery and personal indignity. Those who do work are denied a fair return for their labor by a tax system which penalizes successful achievement and keeps us from maintaining full productivity. But great as our tax burden is, it has not kept pace with public spending. For decades, we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children's future for the temporary convenience of the present. To continue this long trend is to guarantee tremendous social, cultural, political, and economic upheavals. You and I, as individuals, can, by borrowing, live beyond our means, but for only a limited period of time. Why, then, should we think that collectively, as a nation, we are not bound by that same limitation? We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow. And let there be no misunderstanding—we must to begin to act, beginning today.

I have noticed that members of congress want to keep the Medicaid program paying the same amount to phamacutical comapnies. They state it might actually raise prices, show me the proof. The VA (Veterans Affairs) bargains with drug companies and has a SUBSTANTIALY lower drug cost then Medicaid, so why not negotiate drug prices?

Should welfare actually exist to uphold some peoples abuse of it. I believe that this failing system is the reason for high taxes when unemployement was up. What do you think. Is welfare an outdated and abused system that should be cut? Do you think that in order to support people that you have to litterally spoon feed that supplies? In all honestly i dont think it should exist because their are people out their that were litterally homeless and managed to get up to the level of living that made them comfortable...

Miminum wage is huge topic of debate these days. Instead of raising minimum wage with the theoretic possiblity of hurting small business, instate a welfare program/job placement program that guarentees if you work a forty hour week and are constantly employed you recieve a much larger welfare. All this of course without rasiing taxes or government spending (maybe with funds that are currently being used to fight a war after its done.)

We are the people, we are the vote and we can make decisions which the elected government represents but they do go a bit off center when they realise they have power.
We pay a tv licence and we all have 4 coloured buttons on our remote.
We also have an idividual pin number for our receiver so give us the vote.
We are in a democracy right???
