If so, what did you talk about - did they give satisfactory answers, or did they leave you more confused than before?

If not, why don't you? It's quite a liberating feeling, venting ones frustrations at the very cause of them, as well as being your God-given right, of course!

Be interesting to see the responses to this.

Right now we call Indi a developing nation and how long are we going to cheat thepeople of this great nation? Why politicians are selfish to the core with out addressing to the issues of public concern? With the available technological provess why we are not able to assure 3 sqaure meals a day to the 400 million poor people in India. Why people themselves do not care to fend themselves with regard to basic needs of food ,clothing and shelter? If Democracy in India for the last 60 years could not provide all Indians the basic needs, then what useful role our politiocians and parliament is doing? Can we not develop one language, one religion for the whole humanity to prosper? Can we not think of a world goverment so that the entire humanity can get unified under 1 banner and learn to live peacefully. can we not abolish war from this planet? Can we not simplify education so that it becomes a learning process with fun.Can we not learn to live in tune with nature. Is man or God important to us

Democracy is "majority rule: the doctrine that the numerical majority of an organized group can make decisions binding on the whole group."

Democracy means that the government is controlled by "the people."

However, what is a people? It is the entire human population or just a subset of the human population? If it is a subset of the human population then what do you use to distinguish "peoples."

For example, suppose most people in Texas wanted to separate into a separate country. Would this be democratic? Most Texans want it, but most Americans may not. What makes Americans as a whole more of a "people" than Texans?

Recently, in the papers it came that cricket players payments were going to be linked to their performances. What about politiciians?. After we elect our local representative, we don't see what he does for his local constituency. Our current prime minister and finance minister have made a name for themselves not only nationally but internationally. What about those who do not become ministers? All management books are full of stuff on how goals are so important that goal setting should be a habit inculcated from early childhood. Ideally there should be a website for each constituency which has its goals and an action plan to implement those goals by some stipulated date. In the corporate world, retribution is swift if you are not able to achieve goals. Is governing a country less important than running a company or a sport? If their activity is mentioned on websites regularly, they can be monitored by their boss the voting public. No point blaming politicians if system is faulty

I think that the US is not giving enough money to the Department of the Interior (which runs national parks) and thus we are seeing poorly staffed and run down parks, anyone out there have an idea on how to fix this issue.

Having watched, along with millions of other people the Ch4 Dispatches programme - http://www.channel4.com/news/dispatches/themes/society_theme_landing.html on 15/01/07, I cannot help but wonder why UK troops are in Afghanistan and Iraq (which, as I understood, was to maintain our own Nations' democracy, peace, etc) when, according to the above programme, UK people are allegedly "being groomed" to accept and change to the Islamic Faith or face the consequences - which is contrary to what the UK Govt are saying.

IF this programme is correct in the facts, WHY has UK Govt not shut down, or deported these "missionaries" (sic) when our own UK children are not even allowed to wear the Christian cross around thier neck?

A Dispatches reporter attends mosques run by organisations whose public faces are presented as moderate and finds preachers condemning integration into British society, condemning democracy and praising the Taliban for killing British soldiers.
