If elections can become honest corruption would stop. Even here in the US. Take those lobby groups out of washington and keep our law makers accountable aslo keep campaigns public and honest and you'll do away with most corruption. When people are elected they have way too many debts to repay to attend to the needs of their constituents. The people who vote should come first for progress to happen for the masses, not the interests of a few.

Stopping corruption is the matter of recognition of human moral weakness and providing a realistic balance system. People have to have an incentive to do right and a means of punishment when they do wrong. Can corruption totally be stopped? No, but it can be limited. The people can't be apathetic... The truth is if they do it to one they will not stop there. Even the small things should be valued.

Good luck. Years ago a man from Greece came to America. He was a college student who eventually went back to his country.
While in college he met a group of young men that he could actually have a discussion with from time to time besides talking about sports or girls. One of the topics that was breached was regarding foreign aid.
At the time, the United States was sending a pretty hefty package of financial foreign aid to Greece so it was a subject that applied to the times. His contribution to the conversation was enlightening to say the least.
He said "Americans are basically dumb, they send money around the world thinking it will do any good whatsoever - but by the time it gets down to the people it's supposed to help it's been siphoned so many times that there's no money left for those who it was said to be intended for." He gave examples from his home country of Greece but I won't bore you with the details.
How does this apply to your particular question? How to stop corruption around the world? How about stopping corruption in your home community?
Does your fire chief have sex with the sales girls from the companies that your fire department buys it's equipment from? Do they recieve other compensation for those purchasing decisions? Does an ex-fire chief for the City of Austin, Texas not own an estate in Barcelona, Spain?
What about your politicians at the local level? Why would your elected leaders give tax abatements to corporations and raise your taxes? What makes sense about this? What money is trading hands underneath the table? Why does the Dell Corporation (or any other example you want to use) consistently request (and recieve) tax abatements everywhere it goes? Does Michael Dell not have enough money yet?
What about the Federal Reserve System which controls banking in the United States and dominates the American economy? It is a privately held corporation that makes a killer profit off of United States taxpayers. The monetary policies of those who own the Federal Reserve are suffocating our economy but like the proverbial frog in the saucepan on the stove - most Americans fail to realize they're being cooked to death.
The real question here is when will you stand up? When will you risk your neck, like the Patriots of the American War for Independence, to stand up for yourself?
Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country was a statement made by President Kennedy. One of his final acts was to remove the owners of the Federal Reserve from power. He was stopped by the bullet through his skull in Dealey Plaza and LBJ along with many politicians before and since simply went on with business as usual.
There are very few leaders who have the values and commitment to stand up to the monsters of corruption. Ron Paul is one of them. Congressman Paul is a prospective candidate for President in 2008. He's looking for fellow American Patriots who want to take back America and charge boldly into the future.
If you will fail to lead a charge yourself at least stand with him. He'll stick his neck out. Copy this message and pass it along to your fellow countrymen. All it takes for evil to suceed is for good people to do nothing.

By following the path of humanity. What we are getting by hook or by crook, can be gained even after giving everybody a fair chance and if we truly deserve it, nobody can take it away from us. So lets be humane, think about others and be fair and square in whatever we do.

good question frnd, the first thing that shld be done is to terminate the educational ignorance.proper care shld b given towards two basic issues-poverty and lust for more.while the second one cant b removed phically,as it is a common humane nature.so proper moral values shld b imbibed upon them.and for the former one only proper advancement in proper way is needed.

Coz somebody who is caught for taking millions and has to pay few thousand is encouraged to do it again.
