China's goal is to capture Taiwan. And will do so by force if there's no capitulation.China COULD crush North Korea if it was in their best interests.George Bush undertook bold actions by expressing U.S. support for the defense of Taiwan following the stand-off in March 2001 with the People's Republic of China over the crash of a Chinese air force jet and the detention of U.S. personnel. (remember?)
So, again I must ask is North Korea REALLY a puppet of CHINA??? note from wikipedia:

In an ongoing dispute, the People's Republic of China attempts to claim sovereignty over Taiwan and some nearby islands, which have been controlled by the Republic of China (ROC) since 1945. The PRC asserts the Republic of China to be an illegitimate and supplanted state and administratively categorizes Taiwan as a province of the PRC. The ROC does not recognize these claims, administering itself as a sovereign country with a democratically elected government and presidency.....stay tuned

President spoke today about N Korea, but he pretty much talked for over an hour just blabbing and telling reporters how good they looked if you were watching or hearing his speech. Is this worth interrupting your show for? If it's important of course, but today I didn't feel it was.

Army Cancels Contract for Iraqi Prison
By JAMES GLANZ
BAGHDAD, Iraq, June 19 — The Army Corps of Engineers said Monday that it had canceled a $99.1 million contract with Parsons, one of the largest companies working in Iraq, to build a prison north of Baghdad after the firm fell more than two years behind schedule, threatened to go millions of dollars over budget and essentially abandoned the construction site.

The move is another harsh rebuke for Parsons, only weeks after the corps canceled more than $300 million of the company's contracts to build and refurbish hospitals and clinics across Iraq. A federal oversight office had found that some of the clinics were little more than empty shells and that only 20 of 150 called for in the contract would be completed without new financing.

She was caught selling drugs to an undercover cop & is going to jail for 6 months. We wanted to take him with us ( hopefully for good ) Child protective svc. is involved. We have been waiting to hear from them. Well , we did today. Because the boy ( who's 14 & wouldn't say anything bad about his mother because they questioned him in front of her) was not with her when she sold the drugs, she's still a fit mother & will regain custody when she gets out of jail. While she is in there, she has asked her brother to take him. ( He is a dope smoker, among other things ) Child Protection said we have to have her permission to take him. ( she already said no cuz she knows we'll file for custody) Is there anything we can do? We really need to get this kid out of that enviornment. Thanks for any help. We have been together 9 yrs. & have 2 other children.

Having worked for several councils as a sub-contractor, I've come to the conclusion that most of the people employed there would not be able to hold down a job out in the 'real world'! Get someone to make a decision on their own, no chance, a committed of people have to have a meeting to decide whether to give the go ahead or not. As someone if they prefer red or blue.... same scenario.

If these people are so good at their jobs, why are they working for the public sector in the first place... because its an easy number, just walk around the office carrying papers looking busy, turn up to a few meetings to show your face...sorted, nice pension or nice redundancy package. Work for the council, you're sorted for life!

You hear all the time about how this person or that person used a loop whole to get out of paying taxes. My question is, if you found a way to do that, wouldn't you. I think everyone would try to get out of paying taxes or at least pay less if they could find a way.

Its all we hear about. Bush posturing "oh the budget deficit is decreasing." US citizens: "Well the budget is better since Bush came into office you know" etc etc.
I bet very few of you even know where the money is coming from that is going to pay for the Iraq and Afghanistan AND any other illegal wars the US becomes involved in. If you understand the US Govt budget and deficits, post your answer here.(And be sure to tell me WHERE the funds are going to come from to PAY for these wars!) IF you know.

North Korea warned on Wednesday that increased U.S. pressure over the regime's reported nuclear test could be considered an act of war,and South Korea suggested it would build up its conventional arsenal to deal with its belligerent neighbor. North Korea's No. 2 leader threatened to conduct more nuclear tests if the United States continued what he called its "hostile attitude."what do you think the U.S should do?

I have a patient that does not have any health insurance. He does not have the money for home oxygen. He will remain in the hospital until there is a plan for him to receive home oxygen. Does anyone out there think that it would be more cost effective to work out a payment plan for the home oxygen (which costs a lot less), than to have the patient remain in the hospital for thousands of dollars? It's no wonder why so many hospitals are being shut down. I am all for the patient, but also for saving the patient money. Especially when the outcome is the same for a lot less. Has anyone else out there witnessed something simliar?

Was watching the news the other day, Tony Blair made a comment about his successor will be looking forward to 'fighting' with the conservatives in the future. Isnt a lot of energy wasted by the parties being at loggerheads with each other in this way about many issues? Shouldnt we just have proportionate representation as this would produce a more balanced power base and be more representative. Is there no way to show support for Proportionate Representation? Is there not a lobby group for it? Why cant it be brought in?
