If gas prices are at $56.00 a barrel then WHY is gas still around $2.09 a gallon? And some people say that the Goverment isn't involved!!! They are ripping us a new one....yet some people on here will back our Goverment to the end. Why is that?

Study up on economics. While free trade has it's downs, it still is better than regulated trade.
The price of gas is set by the international market, not just the US.
Read a book...learn a little.

The government does NOT control gas prices, other than the amount of tax that is placed on a gallon of gas.
Also price changes do not usually effect the price of gas immediately. The oil brought in still must go thru the refining and distribution processes before that cheaper product makes an impact on the price....
The price of gas is on the oil companies, the distribution companies, and the local dealers... NOT the government.... and the least of that is the big oil companies themselves, which make less than $0.10 per gallon profit on each gallon of gas.

Because people are too ignorant to fight for justice. The government and oil companies are gouging the public and most of us just take it. Try not paying your taxes en mass and see what happens.
