Having worked for several councils as a sub-contractor, I've come to the conclusion that most of the people employed there would not be able to hold down a job out in the 'real world'! Get someone to make a decision on their own, no chance, a committed of people have to have a meeting to decide whether to give the go ahead or not. As someone if they prefer red or blue.... same scenario.

If these people are so good at their jobs, why are they working for the public sector in the first place... because its an easy number, just walk around the office carrying papers looking busy, turn up to a few meetings to show your face...sorted, nice pension or nice redundancy package. Work for the council, you're sorted for life!

I'm with you pal, I was a contract worker for years (before I retired) I worked all over the world, and all over the UK, but I've also been on the 'other side' and worked direct for companies.
No one is g'teed to have a job for life anymore, inc council workers, plus while they are working the money is cra*!! But the advantage is that they are working on the door step, short hours and probably would get home sick if they worked too far away!
I agree though I haven't really come across a 'company man' who knows much about the job, they seem to know plenty of BS not relevant to the actual work !
But lets face it , if they could handle it, I would not have been in work, neither would you!!
I could not stand a 9-5 job, they can and do, I'm not quite sure what your gripe is?
Do you want to join them, do it!!
Do you want to annoy them? You've just done that!!
Do you just want to let off a bit of steam? well you've also just done that!
And no real harm done.
Just keep on doing your own thing, you think they are all pricks, they think you are not qualified to get a 'proper' job!
Long live 'free enterprise'!!

its quite funny really they moan and we suffer because they say they havent got any money they put the council tax up every year yet the whole things a con the amount of people that work for the council hide in the background get paid for doing next to nothing like you say they have meeting after meeting for pathetic things and never get to the bottom of ianything ,makes me laught when i see things in the paper like the other day they were taking conkers out of trees so they didnt fall on anyone what the fuk cant imagine how much money that wasted where is the common sense ,the maintenance side of the council is a total joke most of them havent got a clue what there doing it usually takes three blokes to put a screw in and there always standing around drinking cups of tea

where i live they sold 10 old peoples holmes to a private company that company has employed all foreigners alot that dont even speak english they offered the people that worked there 8,000 to sign a new contract which entitled them to no sick pay less holiday and they have to work 12 hour days now there saying they arent making a profit and are planning on closing down 5 of the holmes ,in the end the old people are suffering one was given mince and custard because the foreigner hadnt a clue and this is what happens all the money the council squanders affects plenty of people i mean we cant even look after our elderly any more its all one big chain reaction what gets me is how does anyone exspect to make a profit out of a old peoples holme.

I couldn't agree more, but it is probably even worse than you think. They are involved in left wing social engineering, carrying out functions that don't need doing, whilst doing things that do need doing, inefficiently. They have no competition, so inertia and inefficiency develops. As you imply, they are very politicised; management hides behind committees and vice versa. Also, as you suggest, staff are virtually un-sackable, protected by unions, very handsome pensions, take considerably more sickies than the private sector. They seem to have forgotten that they are supposed to be public servants, and not totalitarian control freaks. Even their budgetary accounting system seems to be based on the concept of "how much have I got left to spend"?

arent these people all reliant on good old labour for their weekly bread ?Who do you think they will vote for at the elections ?The labour council that employs them , of course thats why Toneee has had an extra 900,000 of them employed in the last 10 years.P s did you read about the road cone cleaner in the mail this week who was paid 90,000 by his council last year. That was more than the council leader.

strains on the line help you to renowned the regulations of that street, lane self-discipline etc. Roundabouts help with site visitors flow. canines **** on the line is disgusting. i'm uncertain there is the variety of place as somebody employed specially to degree fences, this is in simple terms made up. the only element i could agree on is that "interest advent" schemes designed to get human beings off the dole do not artwork by way of fact they are doing it incorrect. they are too short-termist. it is not any good signing somebody off right into a crap interest he hates, or non everlasting artwork, or that individual would be signing on lower back genuine away. it may be far extra perfect to actively go with applicants seen desirable for particular education or education with an prolonged term objective in keeping with fulfillment by using utilising skills.
