YES..... NO QUESTION

In the terms of security it is imperative that you do not expose all your information. There are elements within and outside of our country that would have no problem giving info to our enemies. To keep an enemy from having an advantage, the best way to do it is via the control of sensitive information.

There are certain things that we do not need to know. When information is released, people's lives are put in danger, i.e. wasn't there something in the news a while back where a undercover agent's name was revieled?????

There is a time and place for things to be shown, but things that are current/happening in the moment,,, we do not need to know.

I would love to see your gov't run if all your info was being leaked out and the enemy knew what you were thinking. And you can't say "well just release it to the american public only", it don't work like that. public knowledge is world knowledge.
Maybe you should do some research on how a gov't should run, perhaps go to college and research how countries got screwed over when vital info was release while a conflict was going on.

At times, keeping information from the public is very important. Obviously during a state of war, enemies can access such info if released to the public (ahem -- New York Times) thus risking the lives of soldiers and civilians.

Some information is top secret and can not be shared. It would put agents and informants life in jeopardy. It could also alert the people we are trying to stop about the methods we use to gather intelligence making us more vulnerable. If you don't have a need to know, you don't have a right to know.

Yes, there are all sorts of classified information:

capabilities

weaknesses/vulnerabilities

spies names and locales...

There is no way we could function by letting anyone know anything.

It's a lesson the mainstream press needs to learn, since they seem bent on revealing anything and everything...and then blaming someone else.

Yes. Some people cannot handle the truth and would rather live in a fantasy world of conspiracy theories.
