Obviously the government employs the diplomats/Ambassadors but specifically which department is in charge of them and how are they selected? Are they assigned the job or recruited, do they run against others and are elected within the department?

A F-1 visa was granted to my daughter, in December at the American consulate in Port-au-Prince, Haiti last December for 6months to study English at the University of North Florida, in Jacksonville. She is now in a community college there. She would like to renew her visa in the States for 4 years. How would she proceed to do that?

Does anyone know it you can move the date of the interview up. Everything that I find online says that it takes about 3 months to get an interview in Moscow. Im sure they allow this extra time to plan for getting all documents ready, and travel, but we have everything done, just need an interview. Is there a way to contact the embassy and move the date up? - Thanks for lookin at my ? - Shawn
