A F-1 visa was granted to my daughter, in December at the American consulate in Port-au-Prince, Haiti last December for 6months to study English at the University of North Florida, in Jacksonville. She is now in a community college there. She would like to renew her visa in the States for 4 years. How would she proceed to do that?

A US visa is only for entry into the country. If your daughter will look at the white I-94 card that was stapled into her passport when she arrived, she will probably see that the officer who admitted her wrote "DS" on it. That means "duration of status," which means that she can legally stay in the US as long as she is a full-time student.

Since she changed schools, she should go to her international student office and ask them to help her officially transfer to that school. But there is nothing further that she will have to do unless she leaves the country (to visit you for Christmas, for example). When she does that, she should make sure that she has a new, valid I-20 form with her from her new school, and she should apply then for a new student visa at the nearest US embassy or consulate.
