I am on visitor visa in London.Can I apply for a schengen visa in Indian Embassy,London.

No. You Must get a schengen visa from the consulate of the first country you intend entering.
If you intend going by train or ferry to France and then on from there you must go to the French consulate in London. I think the tube station is South Kensington and the consulate is right outside. Go early and don't expect to get out before 3pm
