I consider myself Independent as a voter, and really like some of what Ron Paul has to say. However, I am strugling with what I see as a contradiction:

He supports a return to Constitutional Government. He supports the right to bare arms and, and says he agrees with the second amendment.

However, he would take away birth right citizenship as part of his immigration reform. This seems hypocritical to me, as the 14th Amendment provides for this right.

So is he picking and choosing which Constitutional rights he likes? Can he really run on a platform of return to Constatutionalism? Do you agree or disagree with me?

Will the Mormon community once again be allowed to practice their beloved polygamy?

Will we have 10 first ladies?

Will taxpayers be footing the bill for adding a new wing of bedrooms onto the White House?

Will Airforce One be replaced with something larger so the entire family can go along on trips?

Bill Clinton was attacked for admitting he tried pot, but "didn't inhale". Now a black presidential candidate publicly admits to criminal drug use, and it becomes politically unacceptable to question him on the issue. Anyone who comments on the matter is treated like they just used the "n word". Whether he is black, white, or any other race isn't it a legitimate concern when a presidential candidate has a drug history?

During here stint in the senate, She was always refered to as Hillary Rodam Clinton Always the double barreled last name, but now that she is in full swing of her presidential bid she is being referred to as just Hilary Clinton.

I wonder if this is a decision made by her campain or something that just happened? I wonder if her campain has seen it as a way to garner more support tie her closer to bill or just something the press has done?

I think they may have. Everytime I think of the name Ron Paul, I think of Ron Paul spam, and Ron Paul obnoxious cut and pasting. Who else agrees with me?

If the Ron Paul cancer didn't spread his name in such a manner, I think more people would be turned on to him rather than turned off.

Over exposure kills everybody.

Mike Huckabee was slammed for stating that Mormons believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers...but if you read the Mormon's own Doctrine it states that "Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers and we were born as siblings in heaven to them both, Mormon Doctrine, pg. 163" Do you think he should have had to apologize?

I lieing, cheating socialist femi-Nazi left over from the 60's defending the slaughter of 50 million babies or an honest, Babtist preacher who wants to put an end to 40 years of genocide in America. Which will you vote for?

With the changes and restrictions on lobbiest, they are still wooing elected officials with lavish parties for the holidays. And even doing it on government property. They hide the names of those attending, and spare no expense with the perks. Why do they not stop the lobbying all together? I think its because the elected officials, the same ones who voted for the restrictions enjoy the perks more than they value the voters who put them there. What do you think?

Though many of his idea's are pertinent, due to the lobbyist today wouldn't even the Republican party override many of his veto's? Something John McCain has been fighting for decades.

Do you believe that he will be getting ready to become the next President? Or do you think he will be wearing a hat made of tinfoil while hiding under the bed with a shotgun, and a package of hotdogs, because the spaceship is coming to get him?

"I'm not going to vote for __________ because his/her supporters are ______(enter any undesirable trait here)_____!"

I've been running across this more and more lately, and find it a bit disturbing. Personally, if a candidate has some solid and feasible ideas that I feel would greatly improve the way the country is run, I don't care if his campaign is cheered on by Nazis wearing diapers and riding porpoises. (Assuming of course that those folks aren't his apparent choice for cabinet members!)

Or, there's the flip side... people who vote for a candidate just because some big celebrity endorses him/her without really knowing what that candidate's platform is.

I'm curious as to why some people feel this is a valid reason to support or reject a candidate.

I believe Hillary's political qualifications are limited to her experience in the Senate and her experience as a lawyer. Many people seem to think that by virtue of being married to the President she is somehow more qualified to be President.
This logic is flawed in my opinion.
Would the spouse of a major CEO be qualified to run a major corporation?
Would you want to be represented in court by the SPOUSE of a well respected attorney?
Hillary Clinton was not elected to anything before she was elected to the Senate. She should be judged on the record of her personal accomplishments, in both the public and private sectors, not the accomplishments of her husband.
